I was playing around with the 3 AO's that I like parts of and got the brilliant idea of mixing the animations I like best into one ZHAO HUD, the rub... I opened the Abranamations Female AO #2 and Kitten but quickly realized they weren't going to let me copy the animations back into another AO... I then tried to put them back into the Abranamations and Kitten units but no joy. I have broken both my Abranamations and Kitten HUDs :/. Is there any way to put them back together or am I hosed?

Assuming the old AOs are no-mod, there's no way to put stuff back into them, but you can (and did) get stuff out... so I'm confused by From: Shez Oyen ...they weren't going to let me copy the animations back into another AO... if that "other AO" is ZHAO, which should be full perm (if not, then wherever you got it is probably violating its GPL). Of course, you can't "copy" no-copy animations, but to just move them in a real ZHAO should be as easy as detaching the ZHAO, rezzing it on the ground, and dropping the anims into its Contents. Curious to know which part isn't working.

I rezzed my ZHAO on the ground and was able to move the no copy stuff into it, I was trying to edit the fresh ZHAO and drag the animations into the content tab (which wouldn't work) thanks for the clue

SL doesn't let you move no-copy animations into an attachment's inventory (not really sure why). So you need to rez the ZHAO on the ground before trying to add animations to it. From: someone if not, then wherever you got it is probably violating its GPL Based on my understanding of the GPL, that is a violation. But many animation sellers do it, and I've just decided not to fight it, it's not worth my time. I have my hands full dealing with the "I bought your XXX AO and I don't like the animations, can I have my money back" IMs. People don't understand the difference between the AO and the animations in it (different creations with different creators), I don't expect to be able to explain GPL to them. And I'm not really sure why sellers set the AO to no-mod. It doesn't add any extra protection to the animations. It prevents someone else from adding animations to that AO, but someone could do it the other way, pull all the animations out into a full-perms AO. So I'm really not sure what they feel they're protecting by making the AO no mod. All it does (that I can see) is inconvenience the buyer.
