I have just changed my place to group land and now I have problems.I noticed about 700+ objects not owned by the group ,not a big prob ,they just need a new tag set.

The biggest problem is my music stuff will not funtion.I will fiddle about and see if I can get it going .What other stuff do I need to change to get back up and running.

Deed your music device to the group, as well as anything that need land permission, eg security orbs

Selling sould be OK.

The issue is that things like music/video devices set the media streams for the parcel.
The have to be owned by the land owner.
For group land, the group is the land owner - not you.

Ditto for security devices that wnat to manage the access list.

Ah. The problem is that you made the items "no transfer" to the next owner--and once you've deeded it to group, the group *is* that "next owner."

I suppose if you're selling stuff that changes parcel audio or media streams, and that stuff is supposed to be operational on the parcel while it's for sale (not from a vendor), then the stuff will need transfer permissions and be deeded to group, which means the group will get the proceeds from sales. That's not a disaster, but you'd want to be sure only the right group members are in roles that split the take--that is, have the Ability to "Pay group liabilities and receive group dividends."

Or you could have group-deeded demo units that aren't for sale, and sell from other, individually-owned vendors.

Or you could split out the parcel control part of the scripting into a separate unit as part of the product, and then be clever about checking whether the thing is on group-deeded land (on_rez and when trying to set the stream), and if so, trying to talk to that separate unit; if one can't be found, offering a copy to the owner from the device's inventory with instructions for deeding it to group. That sounds a little complicated, and it's an extra prim, but something like that is valuable for use in rental units anyway.

Get your group role changed to allow you to sell group objects, move them, edit them etc.

Ah Thanks Qie that explains it nicely .I think I will set demo's and sell from boxes that should do the trick I think I can spare the prims now/
I will also put up a sign or 2 explaining things Cheers Blot
