Hello
I have installed RC 1.22.11 and now seem unable to hear music or use voice chat. I can hear all other sounds and i can see and hear videos no problem, i tried using voice on windows live messenger and it works fine. I have checked that voice is not being blocked in my firewall and its fine, as far as i can see all my settings in prefs are set correctly for me to be able to hear music. i would rather not go back to a previous version because when i take snapshots they now seem to be bug free.
Is anyone else having the same problems or have any suggestions.

I don't use voice, but I've had no problem with hearing music.
I've a few other issues with the release, but sound is not one of them.

did you check this in more than one or two sims
also check your volume controls in your veiwer and in your control panel of your system..
some programs will adjust mine at times..

I thought that I had the same problem, but upon some investigation by plugging the music streams url into winamp, I found most times that it’s because the music stream is full/offline. One suggestion is you could run winamp on your desktop while inworld, just plug in the url of your favorite music stream …. this way you can also have your music.  |

i tried listening to music in a few different sims and ouldnt hear anything, i also tried adjusting the volume controls as well, still nothing. I havent tried adding the url to anything else yet, its sounds like a good if temporary fix, I'll try when i am next online, thanks.

i know there are times when others can hear a url but i can't..then they switch the url and it plays..
the strange thing is you get sound with video which is also a url but at the same time a quick time codec..
so maybe you just need a codec for listening to music in sl..
i could be way off but it is worth a try..i am still on an older viewer myself so it's hard to see what is really going on..
