Now that I've started to get more serious about building and have acquired a few textures, I thought I'd buy a Texture Organizer.
I bought one from Imitation of Life and loaded on some textures. Some however did not show up in the organizer as expected. My investigation revealed that these textures were "No Transfer" and that is the only thing that I could see that might cause them not to work with the Texture Organizer.
So my questions...
• Has anybody else run into the problem of textures that don't work with texture organizers?
• Is this due to the No Transfer? Or am I just overlooking something else?
• Is there a Texture Organizer that can work with No Transfer textures?
Thanks much!

ANSWER: I got a hold of the maker of the product and she says that only full perm textures work with an organizer (hers and others — says it's an SL thing).
Bummer.
If anybody has a solution for dealing with textures that are not full perm, I'd appreciate the advice.

There is no way to deal with textures that are not full-perm. Most texture makers will sell textures full-perm because without full perms on a texture, you cannot use it in products you sell.

... and 99.9% of the people who sell no-transfer textures have no idea of the implications of that, which are both non-intuitive and horribly limiting to the in-world texture industry. See http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3448. Or for just a sense of how brain-damaged no-transfer textures really are, try using one to paint a few sides of a prim, then look at the prim contents. Then imagine inflicting that grid-breaking nonsense on your sim.

I sent a notecard to the maker of the texture asking him (her?) to change their practice and make their textures full perm. I told them that I'd be far less likely to buy their product in the future if they continued to make them No Transfer.
Ah well, live and learn I suppose.

From: Qie Niangao ... and 99.9% of the people who sell no-transfer textures have no idea of the implications of that, which are both non-intuitive and horribly limiting to the in-world texture industry. See http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3448. After following your link to Jira and from there to its original thread it appears to me that it should be common knowledge that one should NEVER buy textures that aren't full perm. I must have been asleep in class when the teacher covered that subject.
