I keep trying to update to the latest version of quicktime. It give me an error and says go to tools, download only. So I do, it will not install the latest version. Anyone know what could possibly be wrong?

Without knowing your operating system I have no specific answer as both ac and Windows have an automatic update notification nowadays. I'd recommend just going here and downloading the latest version:

hi................I had to get a completely new pc system recently after my rubbish old system graphics, failed to cope with the new 1.21 viewer. Trying to log in on the new system, i had a quicktime error, so one of the forum residents suggested i get it from online. So I went direct to the quicktime website and downloaded the newest 7.5 version of same and wam bam, I was in sl and fingers crossed - not one crash since. Try it thats all that worked for me.

Yep, I recommend uinstalling Quicktime first, and then installing the new one. Sometimes the update corrupts and well... gahhhhh!

I have 7.5 but it wants to install version 8. It just will not do it

If the auto-update failed before you tried the exe file, it might have caused an issue that keeps 8 from overwriting it. I recommend uninstalling Quicktime, rebooting the computer and then installing it from the exe. (You probably can leave out the reboot, but I'm paranoid with my brat of a comp.)

Speaking of quicktime and instead of making a complete new post... I have the issue of quicktime/videos not playing in world.. I have uninstalled/installed both quicktime and SL numerous times... Still video will not play :| I never had a problem in the past... The last time my video worked properly was I think back in May... Its driving me nuts I can't fix it... Anyone have ANY suggestions or know how to fix this... Thank You

Hmm.. I think I had the issue once. Then I tried another viewer and that caused it to work.

Quick way to find out if it's a viewer based issue is if the same media link works just fine in Quicktime on it's on.
