Hi i have searched and searched for swords that are more girly looking for women. I roleplay in the Nor sims using the warps HUD. I play a neko/angelique and i was wondering where can i get more feminine looking swords to fit with my roleplay. Any help would be appreciated much.

Couldnt you just attach a pair of tits to a normal sword? That would certainly give you a more feminine looking sword.
I've probably got some spare tits knocking about if you need them. _____________________

Nice to see that chivalry isn't dead, guys
![]() To the OP, have you tried places like Avilion and Nubian Angel? I don't know if you're looking for scripted swords or not. If not, then there are plenty of 'show' swords that are light and feminine-looking, such as this one that's part of a female warrior outfit: http://uncensored.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=685930 If you *do* want a scripted sword, perhaps notecard or IM the maker of the HUD you're using and ask which vendors create swords that work with it, then take a look around their stores to see which ones you like? _____________________

My understanding is the sword has historically been a masculine symbol. To my eyes, I haven't seen a 'feminine' sword... From the largest zwiehander to the short gladius, even the fanciest rapier or decorated smallsword, they all strike me as masculine. In the renaissance, the rapiers and smallswords and daggers (and lots of other things) were often highly embellished / decorated, scabards too. Still, even a rapier decorated with hearts and flowers and frilly hiltwork seems masculine to me.
What makes a sword 'feminine'? -Atashi _____________________

Actually, a "feminine" bladed weapon would be something like the Japanese naginata; a pole with a (curved) blade on the end, where the length serves to keep the opponent at bay so a (likely stronger and larger) opponent can't simply brute-force through the defenses.

Agreed. The Naginata (Katana blade on the end of a 6 to 8 foot long pole) is a weapon favored by Japanese women of the Samurai class. The Yari (spear) is also a traditional "women's blade".
Personally, on the rare occasions I wear swords, it's a matched pair of the traditional Japanese blades - the Katana and the somewhat smaller Wakizashi. _____________________

My sword is a lovely Musashi "Black Rose" katana...the sheath and the decorative ribbon on the hilt can change color to match your outfit.
It's not "feminine" though. Swords simply aren't. They may be beautiful, even ornate...but it's a functional beauty. Avilion's open air marketplace has some nice western style swords, mostly using the SpellFire combat system. Samurai Island has a selection of Japanese style cutlery, using the CSi system. The one "feminine" touch I'd like to see in these things is a slightly smaller version. All of them are sized for hulking 7 foot gorillas. (/me waves to the Cajun gorilla). _____________________

I'm at AVid's mainstore right now, and there are female swords, knives and whips for sale. Very gothic-looking, but pretty nice. Scripted to work with CCS, Warps and DCS 2.
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Clothing/221/50/38 There's also an LM-giver for the store that created them, right beside the sales ads. Might be worth checking out. _____________________

Try the Valmont small sword from Laces and Steel(http://slurl.com/secondlife/Seydhisfjordhur/149/202/23), which comes in two sizes for large and small avatars and includes a number of customization options. French smallswords have a delicate-but-deadly look about them. The Saviolo rapier is also a nice looking weapon, and again, it comes in two sizes. It supports a number of combat systems, but not WARPS specifically; that said, contact the creator about whether it'd be possible to install WARPS compatibility in it. Ceera, I've been looking for a good katana and wakizashi pairing in SL, but outside of a freebie from Bare Rose, I haven't had much luck. Apparently Musashi Blades is tinkering with one, or had plans for one, or something, but no release on the horizon as far as I know. Where's your set from? |

Tyger Armor is the only SL Company that I know that has taken the time to make swords that fit women nicely.

Well, I don't do combat, so for mine all I wanted was a beautiful appearance and the ability to draw and resheath them. I made my own set, with a Katana, Wakizashi, Tanto knife, and Naginata, all with the wavy patterns on the blade caused by the traditional folded-steel making technique, and with tsubas (hand guard disc) that have roses on the piercework disc (based on an actual antique set in a museum). On the Katana, Wakizashi and Tanto, the grips on my set are wrapped in purple cord, with white sharkskin below that, and you can see the two charms under the wrappings, and the wooden peg that holds the blade in place. The sheaths and the pole of the Naginata are all in black lacquer, and there's a floor stand for the Naginata, and a rack for the other three blades. I also made sets with black, blue or red handle wrappings, for friends. But again, mine do NOTHING for combat. All you can do with mine is wear them and draw the blades. Will make a few pics, if anyone is interested. I'd be interested in seeing them, myself. I don't use my combat, they're just an accoutrement appropriate to my avatar. ![]() |

The Elven swordsmiths tend to make arms that are more decorative while still being functional. Try Amulius Lioncourt.

The shops at Avilion...
Tayren's Fantasy clothing...she sells whole avs with outfits and weapons for like $200L...and has a box of freebie weapons on the floor too. I dunno about HUDs and battle systems and all that but those are a couple possible options for you. |

Hi,
you might want to check out the weapons at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Hospers/109/156/40 in particular the Tarn Sabers are available as a female edition (see http://www.xstreetsl.com/modules/Marketplace/Images/6/a/f/6af7df8190d8349919e9cf03e986c32d.jpg for a pic) |
