Personally, I've no idea, but I'm sure that LL will answer the question.

Only on mainland. There's no point in donating tier to estate land, it does nothing. I don't even know why the option is there.

Wouldn't it depend on how island billing is done? Can an island be deeded to a group? If it can, then is it billed to the group, or is it billed to the original purchaser? I imagine it's the latter, but, if it's billed to the group, then donating tier should work.
I've never had anything to do with islands, so I've no idea. _____________________

Islands cannot be owned by groups and their charging is entirely outside of the tier system.
You would need to ask your group members to pay you L$ instead, which could be cashed out to contribute towards the island fee. |

Estate land is billed completely separately from mainland billing. You can't use your free 512M tier for estate, you don't get your 10% bonus, it's a completely different billing process.

I lived on an island which took tier in lieu of other payment, but it was because the owner also had mainland holdings. We donated our tier to the mainland group to defray those costs and got to live on the island in return.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut. |
