an input device that lets you control your games strickly by your thoughts and face movements....
Do you think it would be useful in SL at all?
Don't beleive the places saying it'll be 300-600$.... I work for an OCZ reseller and we've already ordered some in... retail will be about 150$ canadian (so about 80 pounds... or 130 US)

I have just looked at Demo Video of people using it in Unreal Tournament 3 (Great Game) In this game you use the W, A, S, D keys to move and several others buttons to fire, switch guns, jump, strafe left or right and the mouse for aiming. in the video the only thing people used to play the game were the mouse for aiming and the headset. One of the problems with the headset from emotiv is coming out with is it's lack of speed. the OCZ headset in the video it looked really responsive (it needs to be to play Unreal Tournament 3) I was not impressed with emotiv's headset, this however is a great step forward & beyond! it looks more comfy then the emotiv headset, it is a fabric headband. keeping in mind the emotiv headset needs to be programmed for the games it will be used with. This will be a input device! this is a possible turning point in how we use computers. now if it is 130 it should take off, that is a relatively low entry price compared to the emotiv price of 300, and that system looked novelty. I have one question, where can I buy it? _____________________

can't buy it yet... we placed our preorders 2 weeks ago and were told probably middle of may... but once it is available you'll be able to get it from any computer shop that carries OCZ products (newegg, tigerdirect, ncix, canadacomputers etc etc)

I find this so exciting. As someone who has a family member who has limited motor ability, this kind of technology is a huge leap. I'm looking forward to reading and learning more about it once its being tested by the general population.

I can hardly wait to try one of these...it could be even more fun than the Space Navigator 3D mouse.
I also foresee an adaptation of it that could be used to control, um, male naughty bits. Just don't forget you're wearing it and try to stand up. _____________________
