i did this: When mummy said no more texas toast with the caviar I knew we were in trouble! So i hopped the corporate jet and went to Oldfolksville, Florida to see great-grand father (who survived the Great Depression, WWII, and The Seventies). HE SAID fire a few uselesses, raid their pension fund, go THINK (and visit The Money) in the Turks (have secretary will travel get her a bikini wax, noted and checked!). Watch W. a few dozen times. Channel your inner George W. Bush! When ya get home give urself a raise! I DID! and I feel better about the whole econmic thing.

We have been lucky so far, but if any body hasn't seen this website that was mentioned on Oprah one day, they need to if they are in home loan trouble. http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/modification_yes.htmlEven if your not, its a good idea to refinance now.

No corporate jet here, but one of the office chairs has some really slick wheels. You can even glide pretty well on carpet. Of course, it helps that it's the cheap carpet which has almost no give to it at all... but in a pinch I could probably roll this chair all the way down the street to the welfare office if I had to. * * * * * Congrats on your great grandfather surviving the seventies. That said, they weren't all bad. I would trade this any time for about 80% of the emo junk coming out these days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jLGa4X5H2cYeah, that would be me dancing up there wildly too if I had any talent. Haters shut up and dance! * * * * * And to answer your question, fake land on teh internets 4TW

all ya can do is keep on keepin on, roll with it, cut corners where you can and wait for the tide to turn (again), it will, because History repeats. (duck and cover)

I'm trying to buy land! Of course I'm unemployed so that makes things a little more difficult but I think I have come up with a plan. I'm taking what I did for the last 3 years in SL (as Lord Berchot) and trying it in RL. http://Co100.XE3000.com/The Goal To buy land and operate a public campground for profit. To give all Council members their own piece of land. To build a Living History Village. To build a Business run by the Manorial system. Let's hope it works because I'm going broke fast! Selling all my SL land and businesses has tided me over for a few months but it's tough all over.

For some, the economic downturn is an upturn, some folks thrive on others "Misfortune". Such is life:
Debt collectors and recovery agents Collateral recovery The pharmaceutical companies Food companies
Just a few, i am sure folks can add to those.

Well, I doubt it's going to affect me all that much, I was raised by people that survived the depression and am quite good at living within my means. Also, I work at a company that's going to prosper during a recession (Wal-Mart) so I don't expect my pay to change any.
Some people I know are making a killing right now buying up houses for a fraction of what they were selling for just a year ago. They only need to sit on them until the recession blows over as they always do. And since they payed cash for them (gotta love 2 and 3 bedroom homes going for < $100,000) they don't have loan payments to deal with.

I'm building like a crazy fellow.
If that fails I'll be off down to the Portsmouth Dockyard to apply for a position as a rent boy.
