http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxoUwdJQbrw&feature=relatedVery interesting video...was checking out other virtual worlds programs since finding things like Second Life (Blue Mars, Cities XL, so on). Not sure how legit it is, but still...looks really good.

Not SL of any kind. Definitely not 2.0.

That's what I was thinking. No official releases of info or anything, I just saw it and figured it was interesting enough to see if there was any merit at all behind the vid.

This was posted about a long time ago and the answer is emphatically no. This has nothing to do with Second Life. Afaik it's just a fancy jimmy-job someone did with a 3d graphics package. As far as that goes, it's pretty status quo... they can do a lot more impressive stuff even today.

It's probably a left-over from an architectural 3D presentation - nothing to do with SL. It's good though.

The graphic quality is on par with Mirror's Edge, and has the same overly bright quality to it, in my opinion. Beautiful.
It's not 'SL 2' though. For one, there wouldn't really be much like that around for target renders, I don't think. In a world where everything is Resident created, it's unlikely they'd create whole environments before opening it to the public at least partially.
Along with that, it'd be a TON of data to download and process, and running it smoothly at all would be extremely difficult, for another few years, at least (I'd estimate closer to a decade). It's not that the graphic quality is too high, it's that streaming that much data would take a huge toll on the flow of the application.

That video seems to come back every few months, doesn't it?

From: Imnotgoing Sideways Ooh, a sequel? I KNEW the first one had an open ended story. (^_^)y But why is the first one listed in the "Tragedy" section? To me; SL 2.0 would be best portrayed by the video of the guy that created a world for the woman in the coma.

Linden Lab will squeeze out every penny they can from SL 1.0...before starting work on SL 2.0...in other words, it'll be years.
