1.20.17 _is_ the security update. You need not install anything else.

1.20.17 is the latest one. Dunno why it's telling you still need it when you already have it. You could try uninstalling and installing it again.. http://secondlife.com/support/downloads.php

From: Void Singer I get the same msg.... whether it's a mistake or not I have no need for it, since it's for the browser.... and I don't use the sl web browser If you're talking about the recent security updates, be aware it's not related to the web browser.. it addresses problems with the Second Life protocol itself, by deprecating UDP for certain messages since the source address can be easily spoofed. In particular, the older viewers are vulnerable to a method of taking control over your account, and a method of obtaining access to files on your computer http://get.secondlife.com is supposed to be the fastest way to make sure you've got the latest version, I think

From: Clarissa Lowell Long as you can log in, you are updated. With the LL viewer. There are un-updated third party viewers that will still login.

The two most popular 3rd party viewers, Nicholaz and the Cool Viewer have been updated, including the older versions.
