-If you’ve been the victim of fraud, contact our fraud hotline at 800 860 6990. Then, talk about it. Post your experience to forums, blogs and chat. Tell others about who it was and how it happened. do all those legit and bogus land fraud complaints count? _____________________

Yeahhhh. Now, I have no problem with the idea of outlining the way the scam works to make people aware, but this is what got me:
-If you’ve been the victim of fraud, contact our fraud hotline at 800 860 6990. Then, talk about it. Post your experience to forums, blogs and chat. Tell others about who it was and how it happened. Tell others about who is was, when we can't name names here. *sighs* So many thoughts pass through my mind right now and all of them bring forth the head/desk meeting. _____________________

The blog was about free L$ scams that are offered via other websites. I would definitely post the website names and URLs of those. They are not the same as a person feeling to have been ripped off in SL. Although I would have no hesitation in posting av names of anyone who spams me with such 'go to this website and get free L$' offers inside SL, regardless of the forum rules. Common sense is needed.

I've been writing for over a year to say that the common interpretation of 'Naming Names' by forum members is not the same as the intention spelled out in the ToS. But what the heck... popular misconception is 'reality.' People won't let the name thing go even if someone is pure evil. There's an overly PC crowd here that won't let you tarnish the name of a person who completely emptied your bank account, but you can go ahead and make any positive PR spin for in-world businesses. The funny thing is that the same people who blatently break this ToS by titling or directing threads to or about specific people/groups, are the same people who would like to protect every con-artist out there. Unfortunately, I don't believe this forum will ever come to its senses |

For the record, I did AR said idiot. And I'll AR it every time I get it or see it.
And *snicker* Common sense is a rare commodity. If it was more common, scams would automatically fail! As for the naming-names. That should cover personal disputes between individuals, where as a scam artist is an community vs individual thing. If a criminal can be named in a paper... Again see the above _____________________
