Ok...I'm looking for some feedback here cause I'd really love to do this but I have no idea what kind of demand there might be. So.... my first passion is writing.... in SL I focus on photography because it's relatively simple and I love the creative process of editing and so on.....SL offers so many options for cool images http://flickr.com/photos/rythmnmuse/But..there's a very cool printing/publishing gadget I can get in world that would allow me to create my own books and I'm exceedingly tempted to try this out. I just wonder what kind of market there might be with something like this. The options are endless...I could create anything from a childrens book to a wedding album for someone.... It would take some work to turn out but the books are really cool...turning pages and so on.....looks like so much fun. What are your thoughts? If you came across a 'book' in SL that peeked your interest....would you buy it? I know I know...I should just DO it...but I truly am curious if it's worth the effort and L's for the printing gadget. I started my gallery of RL photography because I was encouraged to do it....and i haven't sold a blessed thing. LOL

I was going to go that direction but SL ate the second book I made and I couldn't get myself to continue. Um . . right, let's try that again. There is an island in world, something like "Book Island" or something, where people sell books that they have written in world. Unfortunately, most of them are pretty boxes with notecards in them, instead of something like a Thinc book, or whatever that is called. The forum hangout has, I think, three books out on the table. One is a newspaper like thing, and two have pictures in them (one original artwork . . . maybe 2 SL snaps, maybe not, don't recall which version of book 1 I put out). I did have an offer to buy one of the books, but I never figured out how to go about selling the books (as in, I'm lousy with marketing, promotion, and all that, and pricing, and etc.).

I love to read...SL is not different than RL in that respect, for me anyway.

Hmmm...ok, very cool.... this perhaps deserves some investigating. And yes...ThincBook is exactly what I was looking at......and I've been to book island a few times and it's sort of cathartic wandering around there......but it's also always so empty. *sigh*

I don't want to take the wind out of your sails but I think readership of in world publications is very low. Of course you should pursue it if that’s what makes you happy, but if you're seeking fame and fortune, start a salacious blog.
