Hello. Do you have a tutorial for creating a complex commodity? I'm a novice for this kind of work and I want to create some wonderful things. I'm intrested in Ancient Costume, skating shoes, sculpture, flowers and so on. Thanks.

Hi Jolly, you should definitely take a look at the content creator's forums further down the forum list. Building Tips is good for learning to create objects, and Texturing Tips is good for learning to create clothes, skins, and of course custom object textures. Be sure to check the stickies at the tops of the forums.

Never been yet myself, too busy socialising, but visiting in-world the Ivory Tower of Prims is highly recommended.

No offense to the creator of Ivory Tower of Prims but the place personally I found incredibly difficult and hard to understand.
I strongly suggest you find some lessons on basics and work on your skills.
Look in search in world under events/education.

Do both

Ivory Tower is very good to get the basics in the first instance. When you find it getting difficult to concentrate, stop, look around at objects in world using right click and edit, to see the shapes that things are made of.

Then watch the videos made by Torley Linden (most are available on YouTube and through the knowledge base.

Then take a class or two, to learn how to make something.

Then, go back to Ivory tower and you will find that the things you last found to be beyond your comprehension will suddenly be easier because you have seen the practical applications of them.

Rinse, and repeat.

You never stop learning in SL, but this is the way I started out.

Good Luck

Edit : PS ask for help from others... some things just need a one-on-one explanation to go from "WTF" to "Ahhhh I Seee!!!" If you cant find anyone to explain, do a class and ask the advice of a teacher, or go to the building forums.

Both sculpture and flowers got a big shot in the arm with the introduction of sculptured prims ("sculpties";). Look for tutorials on how to make them. Also do a search on "sculpture" and "statues" in-world and take a look at what some of our artists have created. Wow.

I hand draw my own flowers....but there is also this cool program called sculptypaint that you can do flowers but there is limits on commerical uses and there is some texturing tricks you need to know.
Although I heard Cel has included a texturing feature to newest update I just haven't had time to check it out.

If you take a class, you will get a complete tutorial for one object. and help with any questions you may have as you make it.
