If I am going to sell items for other people in my store, as well as my own items, what is a reasonable commission to charge? It's a small store, with a small inventory - I'm certainly not one of the big businesses in Second Life. Just a small niche market. I was thinking maybe 10%? And I would handle the advertising and sales. Does that sound reasonable? Or should I be considering a higher commission? Most of the people I would be working with do not have large sums or money, or high inventories with repeat sales volumn. More of a mom and pop kind of organization, with an opportunity to get them some sales they would not otherwise have, because they do not currently have stores of their own, and I do have a store available.
Looking forward to input and suggestions. Thanks, Minerva Enoch

Depends on what you are selling Minerva. For ex. I make shoes and also have a Resale version. Normally, the shoes are priced at 150L. I package up 10 per box and sell them at roughly 2/3 the cost. A ten pack runs 500L for some of the basic models. Now if I were to drop a vendor in your store(Apez) I would give you 50% as an affliliate -- If you had your own Apez server and sold my products -- you would receive 25% commission. I generally ive more aggressive commissions to people who lay out their own dough.
Hope that helps.

A friend of mine was doing that exclusively on her sim for a while......she was not charging for shop space....only commission on the items sold. 20% It worked out because all her venders were friends.....and it was done strictly on the honor system. (risky, but wonderful for everyone if it can work). This way noone lost L's on paying rent and not selling.....which I found was a huge issue in renting shop space....it has NEVER been worth it for me. I don't know if she is still doing that......but it was working well at the time....I ended up pulling out because my particular items just weren't selling on her sim....and it wasn't worth taking up shop space when she could have something else there more suited to the area. Anyway....20% seems very fair .. I think it really is the beter way to go for all involved......renting shop space is extremely risky unless you're so established that sales are guaranteed.

I have been thinking about putting together a resale vendor, that would give the seller a 15% commission on the sales from it
see a lot of them on slex, not sure if ppl would use it or not
(I use the jevn system)
I guess no harm trying, not gonna cost me anything to list it and if ppl use it then cool! hehe

You are welcome to sell my products using the Apez vendor system, I pay a 30% commission to anyone who does.
