Am I dead?

I want to rent a shop and sell some stuff but my limits are $10 per 30 days to buy, and $0 to sell.


Once you have been targeted by a Linden death squad do you stay financially dead forever?

Does anybody know the algorithm (or criteria) the Linden death squads use to target users?

That means you can not currently sell linden dollars for USD, but you can certaintly sell things inworld to make linden dollars.

Now, if you mean you need to buy more than $10 usd worth to get lindens to actually rent the shop- Theres a way to get your limits boosted up, I think youve gotta buy some lindens with your USD first.

But yeah if youre just wanting to sell items in the game and make $L you can do that with no restrictions.

Yep, you have to pay LL directly for something before your limits will start to increase. Paying for Premium membership will 'start the clock,' but if you don't want to do that, you'll need to buy a dollar or two worth of Lindens, either by clicking the little dollar sign icon on the in-world viewer, or by going here: http://www.secondlife.com/currency/buy.php

The limits are a little bit of a pain, but they're meant to help deter fraud...if someone could come in with a stolen credit card and immediately buy 2500USD worth of Lindens to auction off, that would be a serious problem.

The caps are a little low.

And also paying for premium shouldnt count towards your caps. But I hear it does.

You arent dead...but you could drop dead if they didnt have those limit and you went spending crazy without thinkin about it after only being in world a short time....I almost did when I first joined and I didnt have a limit. *shudders* bad memories, bad broke memories!

I do think the limits are too low though, I mean, $10 for the month? When setting up your av you need to get a skin, some clothing, hair...more than $10 worth of lindens! Or...is that just me

It's $10 the first day...once the clock starts ticking, it goes up to $50 on day 2. Although, if you spent all of your $10 on the first day, you can only have $40 on the second.

For a first full of dollars....

Wow thats less than 3k though! Thats...thats a good skin and yer done shopping for the day! No wonder so many of our newbs wander around all distressed.

That probably leads to some people quiting.

If they cant even buy the simple essentials the first day - many of people are going to think they are coming to late to the party to "make it"
