But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

I hope it's not one of those business in a box things gone astray. If that's what happened, they'll be all over the grid in no time flat. Hope you can nip it in the bud before it goes too far.

There now, I'm not sure about the boots, but all the women's clothes seem to be from Symmetry by Kasi Tandino. I can not say for sure if he is an authorised reseller or a theif...

symmetry put all their stuff up for sale about a month ago for use to resell or whatever (full permissions) if you dig you can find the ad in the forums here i think it was in events. They said they were taking a nwe direction and put the stuff up fora few weeks and some peple bought them. I hope people are making sure its actualy new symmetry stuff and not the Old stuff which they retired after they sold them full perms..

ok ty all it seems it was mainly one designer the proprietor stole from and they are taking it down.
just a heads up, if you spot another designers work being sold as an original by someone you know didnt make it, let the designer know then let the community know. this kind of stuff has to end. we now return you to your regularly scheduled Second Life ![]() _____________________

Stylee,
The best guide is your conscience and RL morals. Typically, if an object's settings allow, then 'Yes' you can resell. So, if you buy a pair of shoes from a store, and they are TRANSFER, then 'Yes' you can resell them....just like in real life. However, if you *steal* a pair of shoes that are marked, 'transfer', then you should not resell them. Just like in RL. There are also people in SL who do not like to handle 'retail'. You can buy their content "wholesale", and resell it. Just like in RL. But, here are some SL specific circumstances: -its not good form to sell Freebies. Typically, a $1L charge is okay for expenses, but don't rip off the newbies. -Check for 'licenses'. Something may be copy/transfer/mod, but if you use the source code or script, that script must be free and unmodified. If an object HAS a license in it, then when you resell it, leave the license inside. -Textures are a special case. "/me holds his head". Unless you personally uploaded a texture, do not resell it. (every once in a while, someone invents something that will make duplicates of things that are NO COPY, NO TRANSFER, and NO MODIFY. They use their invention to make illegal copies. Its theft, clear and simple. In RL and SL ) Intellectual Property Rights in SL are always a hot topic. I've tried to provide a summary of the simple and obvious answers. |

sorry, just for the record, are you saying you are not alowed to sell stuff in SL that you havnt made yourself?? even if settings alow? you can provided that You: A) have the proper permissions on them(if they are transferable you can go into edit mode to check this) B)isn't a freebie item. i have seen freebie boxes for as high as 50l. go figure. but a 1-10l fee is reasonable, especially if it contains a stores discontinued item. C) isn't a copy of a one of a kind, or exclusive to a certain designer(s). or based on an already copywritten design. which was the case here. anything in SL can be sold. but if You do it without integrity, honesty, or hard work, it's hollow, imho. _____________________

I spent $300 on a very nice looking pair of shoes last night. I just seen them in a freebie shop for free. Ouch.
