So, someone asks you if SL has been a positive experience for you... what do you tell them?

Why yes, yes it has.
It continues to be, even though I've had my share of emotional drama.

From: Maureen Boccaccio I say - yes it has, in so many ways! No one ever asks me that, except for the LL log in page survey occasionally, which then freezes when I try to respond to it. If someone DID ask though, I'd say yeah, it has, for the most part. I'm still here.

Overall, yes it has been a positive experience. Other than business related drama, I haven't had any "relationship" drama since meeting my hubby. I would say meeting him has certainly thrown sl in the "wonderful" category. Now we are venturing into "other" worlds together. Our latest adventure has been in Everquest II and he is just like he is in sl with me, PATIENT!!!

Same here, overall a really great positive experience.
You get used to the downside, the SL client quirks, the lag, the griefers...
all in all it's an amazing product. I'm a huge fan of SL.
Negative experience? The heart attack I'd probably have if I sat down and tallied up all the real life $$$ I've spent since 2006. 8-0

depends on the context....
if they mean the experiences of being in a virtual environment with numerous social interaction opportunities the answer is a resounding "Yes!"
if they mean dealing with the interface and ideosynchronicities and outright buggy behaviors, the answer would be "well it's been a LEARNING experience (mostly learning to deal with frustration)"

Most assuredly it has.
LEGO on steroids.
Evolving technology.
Breathtaking beauty and creativity.
And new friends that I never imagined possible.

From: Jig Chippewa So, someone asks you if SL has been a positive experience for you... what do you tell them? Once you get past the acceptance of Linden Lab's customer service issues (or ignore them completely) This is one of the most creative experiences on the internet. _______________________________ You have to go through the 5 steps of Linden Lab acceptance to get to what is really great about Second Life: * 1. Denial and Isolation: When I am in my skybox everything works fine. * 2. Anger: How could Linden Labs do this to me? I pay alot of money to be here. I am one of their biggest supporters. And look at my business now - in ruins! The Open Sim debacle. my Adult rated mainland parcel is no longer searchable and OPEN ENROLLMENT! I want restitution! * 3. Bargaining: OK here is what we can do: Just schedule updates once a month and we're cool. * 4. Depression: I need to go to Blue Mars. This is killing me. * 5. Acceptance: You know the Lindens are people too. Give them time to work out the problems. It isn't like they are doing this just to upset you. It is a new technology. It is bound to be somewhat glitchy. They don't even profit from it. ____________________________ And then you go see this:

Yes; far and away more positive than negative.
