It seems to be working better for me since the last update.

Since 1.30 our little ZOMG LAG monitors hardly ever write any more, and after all I did for them! I'm writing them out of my will.

Yeah, until this last server update, I could run with my draw distance maxed, now I have to cut in half.

I have the same problem, super low fps... For no reason, 2 days ago same patch and all.. It ran perfectly. it was intermittent starting two days ago now nothing i do works not even sliders all the way down on low setting. did allthat crap suggested on the jira , knowledgebase etc, cussed out my isp to no avial, latest nvidia drivers, rolled back nvidia drivers, eveything cleared and defragged etc, otherwise the machine is running like a dream so IT IS SL! so what's up with sl? say i just deleted all the files u find with "%appdata%" and now my eps are hovering around 30 fps _____________________

I would suggest getting in touch with someone that says they are having no problem, and then visiting their sim. Both take fps readings, then tp to a sim where you have seen a decrease in fps, and both of you take fps readings there. That should be interesting.
This has been going on for years now, with one bunch of residents all noticing a sudden drop in performance, while another bunch all say, no problem here. Rock |

You were low on disk space or hadn't defragged in a long time? i defrag once a month, clear diskspace and chk dsk once a week. no but i had been coping ims to disk for months never looking at them or reading them. FOUND them in the app file for second life. 1.under start menu (xp green thing) 2. then run 3. then typed "%appdata%" EXACTLY IT OPENS A FOLDER IN ANEW WINDOW found the folder saying second life and deleted it init is logs, crash reports etc andi just deleted it all. and i saw immediete lastingperformance gains im playing slon ultra 16x aniscopic w/e with fps in the mid 20 to 30's range draw distance at 512 i mean my rig was THAT good and i had fpsfrom .7 to 2.1 @Rock, did that tried every thing for more deets seemy jira thing http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-15615 _____________________

Tho I'm glad you got your system happy again, I don't think people should nuke their app dir without looking around in there some first - there may be lots of things they don't want to delete!! On Windows (and most other OS') the file system gets grumpy and slow when you have a single directory with a bazillion files in it. If you gets lots of IMs from lots of different people and you have Preferences set to save IMs, you can run into that problem because SL just stuffs them all into a single directory. The same sorta problem is why SL doesn't let you have a ginormous cache - with every texture going in its own file, you quickly run into the limit of the file system and things get slower instead of faster if you make the cache huge. To get around this problem with IMs, I move all my IM files off to a separate directory about once a year. Just create a subdirectory and move all the .txt files there. _____________________
