could be anything. You haven't supplied any data, like your computer specs, driver info, OS, etc. etc.
While you're at it, update your GPU drivers. This usually solved any starting problems.

Also.....give it time before you try and re-log.......often times if your account gets hung up in the logging out process......then logging in will only be delayed if you keep trying and getting errors.
This may or may not be related to what's happening to you....but it's always a good idea NOT to try to log in repeatedly if you're having problems....and wait at least 10 minutes.
Your system specs will help us help you figure this out.....and a little more detail about what's happened......when was the last time you logged in....or is this a new account?

This has happened to me on a number of occasions even though my computer is perfectly all right. I get nervous when I actually double tap my box nowadays.

Wow...it's impossible to give any advice.
Which version of the viewer are you using?
Did it just start happening? Or are you a brand new user?
What kind of hardware are you using?
Do you play other graphics-intensive games? Do they work?
And...have you made any changes? Like update graphics drivers, or such, just before this started happening?
I'd love to help, but don't know enough about your situation to even hazard a guess.

That happens to me too... my pc is a laptop, Toshiba T200, 3 GB RAM, windows XP 32, ATI mobility Radeon HD 2600...
it ran well, and one day it started to do that.

You could try and uninstall or reinstall, or you could try downloading and running the release candidate client, which will install in a different folder.
