In the "detailed view" window of the groups I'm a member of, there is a check-box down at the bottom-right, near my active title. It seems to claim that if I uncheck it, then this group will not be shown in my Profile. However, it's not doing that. For several different groups, I tried unchecking the box, then applying the settings, saving them for good measure, closing and reopening the group info window. It even persists after relogging, so that I still see the unchecked box there, but the same complete list in my Profile.
I'm pretty sure this is actually possible, because I spoke to another resident who'd done this and he basically told me to do what I've done. What am I doing wrong?
I'm running 1.18.5.3.

have you asked someone else to see if they can see it in your profile also?

From: Crunch Underwood have you asked someone else to see if they can see it in your profile also? Right, even if you uncheck them, they will still appear to you, but not to others.

Excellent post! Yes, I suppose it's obvious one would still want to see their own groups but hiding from others hadn't occured to me. Thankyou.

They will also be visible to other members of that group.

Another Question on this....
01-01-2008 11:56
I've been noticing this quite a bit lately - profiles with very few or no groups listed. But when I look in my member list of a group I am in with that person/s, they are indeed still a member. Tried the advice above, but I don't see a "details" area....just under group preferences a tick box that says "Show in Group List" but it's blacked out so I can't change it. (I can on a group I own, so figuring the ones I can't were preset). So, my question is: Is the ability to uncheck groups from profiles dependent on the viewer version? I am using 1.18.3.5 with the Nicholaz BE-s. From: Tomas Gandini They will also be visible to other members of that group. There are people with whom I'm in the same group, but I don't see the group on their profile. Thanks for any help with this
