I'm thinking abut getting a new computer. How would I make the SL change over to new one?
Would I just download SL and sign in like normal? Wanting to keep everythingh I have built up. Thanks for any help or ideas.

Yes. If you did not realize yet sims and content are stored in servers owned by Linden Labs.

Nothing special needed. All your "stuff" is on the asset servers. None of it is local. Just install SL on the new system, and log in.

If you saved any snapshots to disk, or saved any chat logs that you care about, or if you have externally created image files that you later imported as textures, treat those as you would any other documents saved on the old system. No different than an old word processing paper. Transfer it if you want it, or scrap it if you don't care.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

Yeah. Nothing special to do.

But you'll want to copy any logs or pictures you would like to keep.
