Hi, this is a very annoying problem that I came across today. When I want to texture the inside of a hollowed cylinder, and put horizontal repeat to 2.000, I only get about 1.25 of the texture. I don't have offset, so I don't know what's wrong. Anybody experiencing this, too?

The interior of a hollowed prim will be of a lesser surface area then the exterior.

I mean, I think... I'm not really good with math stuff lol. I have noticed this, but I just assume its that the surface of the inside can't be the same as the surface on the outside and if you are texturing the prim all at once as a single object, it will calculate all the surfaces to the proportions of only one surface. Because the surface of the inside is different, the settings for the texture would need to be too.

I'm not sure if that makes sense coz it's late here. You may get better answers if you post this question in the Texturing Tips forum.

Check the WIKI for the exact formula, but the horizontal value for repeats on the inside of a hollowed prim is a factor of the % hollowed. So for example if you hollow a cube to 78%, and want 4 repeats around the inside, the horizontal repeat value you use is 4 * 0.78, or 3.12. If it was hollowed to 95%, it would be 4 * 0.95, or 3.8.

Ah, thank you very much ;)

And sorry, I didn't know where to put this, because I thought it might have been a technical issue.

Thanks again!
