LL has shared the API they use to play Quicktime video on parcels (or a portion of it): https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/technology/blog/2009/08/17/introducing-the-llmedia-api#comment-766173The blog discussion is still open, btw. But if you'd prefer to discuss here ... I'm curious about whether this means more music stream types, FLASH, easy teleconferencing between sims, and ... er ... viruses? Thots?

There are always new malwares to prey on stupid peoples. A kind of electronic natural selection?

From: Nika Talaj I'm curious about whether this means more music stream types, FLASH, easy teleconferencing between sims, and ... er ... viruses? I don't know if anyone's messed around with this much, but I was able to get several different types of flash content (still not clickable though), gif animations, mpeg video, mp? audio, avi, and several others to play as media streams using it. LL has included a bunch of plugins with it, so I think most of the major format types are covered already.
