Cannot Change Group Tag

Hi guys...............please can someone help us........

I am a Manager within a group - a role allocated to me by the Owner. However, it will not change my tag from VIP to Manager! We have tried ejecting me several times and reinviting me, even gone so far as creating an entirely new Manager role just to put me in! And it still just tags me as VIP!!! It has worked for the other managers, just not me.

I've created many groups of my own before and for the life of me cannot work out why this isn't working lol.

I presume you are changing the role on the drop-down menu "My Active Title" - in my fuzzy recollection that might be the problem if not. Also the title for the role is different from VIP, I presume. Sorry if these suggestions are waaay too basic to help.

OK..................i freely admit that even as an SL veteran i am a complete idiot! Lol - had completely forgotten about the active title box! Having done that everything is ok!!!

Time for me and the owner to go off and slap our SL selves until we grown a brain each

goto info go into a few mini tags near the top look for stuff like 'everyone' 'officers' and so on. to change your tag you click the title thats near top then change the lettering in the box below it tho limited to letters and numbers finally click 'apply' - this is something like it goes

I noticed some similar thing in my groups where permissions are listed but the assigned people cannot select the role that enables the permissions.

Is this a viewer issue or a SL issue?

Good example is that I have Allow to set parcel Media for everyone and all the other roles - It appears that none of the roles can change this except for the owners.

Any ideas?

To the credit of both of you, it used to be the case that if a person was invited to a group and assigned a specific role, like Manager, they showed that tag when accepting the group membership. But a relatively recent glitch, about 6 months or so back, made it so the title defaults to the one for the "Everyone" role in that group, and the person has to switch active titles themselves to get the more privileged title to show.

For what it is worth, for the purposes of access to role permissions, it does not matter WHICH role title you have showing, as long as the active title is one of the ones in the desired group. For example:

The "Club Ritz Group" has these roles and titles:

Everyone = "Club Ritz VIP" ; gives you the title and the ability to get group IM's

Bouncer = "Club Ritz Security" ; Adds the ability to ban and eject and to return prims

Manager = "Club Ritz Manager" ; Adds the ability to send group messages and proposals, and to invite proplr into any role in the group other than Owner.

Officer = "Club Ritz Staff" ; Adds a few other abilities, like the ability to build and to add Linden plants.

Owner = "Owner of Club Ritz" ; Has all group role privileges.

Bill Perkins belongs to all of the above roles except for Owner. He is displaying the "Club Ritz VIP" title. But he can still ban and eject, build, and add a new plant to the front yard. No matter which of the club's role tags he is showing, he still has the cumulative abilities of every role he has been added to for that group.

But if Bill switches his group tag to the "Furry Mall VIP" group, he can't ban and eject at Club Ritz, since he doesn't have a Club Ritz tag on.
