Hi If anyone's got a sec, could they take a look at this location? I've just noticed some animated signs have gone up which are not particularly pleasant. It is a Mature Sim, but .. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Proxima/105/114/70I think this would be stretching the TOS somewhat, but would be interested in the opinion of others? Many thanks. Joss

Not inword to see or say, but like the new Muted grey ppls, which remind me of truckers' mudflap fem silhouettes, it would be cool if you could Mute objects, ppls builds and they just never! rezzed. Outta sight outta mind!

Assuming you mean that big ad tower: Short answer: They're working on it. Long answer: Land extortion is against the ToS, but proving that is taking place is next to impossible. Ditto, porn that is openly visible, if rarely enforced. And ditto, adverts to gambling and malicious websites. Jack and Robin Linden are on the record as working on a policy to curb this sort of small parcel abuse, but no word on official policy yet. Full disclosure: The ad farmers in question have a reputation, including documented scams* and passing links to "AdultFriendFinder", which is well known in A/V circles for its malicious practices. McAfee site info: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/adultfriendfinder.com#comments It's worth mentioning, to steer VERY clear of the website itself, as it's been known to serve browser hijacks and other forms of malware through its own ad rotations. Seriously. AFF is DANGEROUS, and should be avoided unless you know what you're doing with a virtual machine.

I don't see anything at that location.
~EDIT~ Whoops....nevermind...I see it now. Ummmm...not sure if it's a TOS violation...but it's certainly not my idea of a great view.

From: Joseph Worthington I don't see anything at that location. I'm guessing either the [Name Redacted] ad billboard, or the animation shop next to it.

They've never been very consistent about enforcing the "broadly offensive" thing, if that's the rule you had in mind. It would come down to how a given Linden looking at it decided what "contained within private land" meant on that day.

It's the animation shop. If you wait for it all to load up, they are displaying short animations of sexual acts!! The tower is the least of the problem.

The only way it's sure to be dealt with if it's visible from PG land -- (infohubs, welcome areas, and sims specifically marked PG), or if it's on land for sale that's set at a bizarrely high price (land extortion).
SL is full of exciting adult things.

If you think it's a violation write an abuse report on it and be sure to detail why you think it is a violation. Other than that, ignore it.
