When i was a noob finding my feet at HI, I used to watch in awe while the mentors did fabulous things with their stuff. One mentor I was friendly with, had what must have been some kind of warlock HUD that conjured up tidal waves, sandstorms, blizzards and the like, that washed harmlessly over the sim as far as the eye could see. Does anyone know where the best places to look for these are? I've checked out most of the usual magic spells places like arcane etc. but haven't found anything quite like he had. I can't remember his name now, but I recall he told me it cost thousands of L$. Thanks in anticipation.

My friend Sindy has something that drops sheep on people. Maybe not that fabo but it amuses me.
The Tornado HUD by Tryptofaa Sands is pretty cool - well worth the L$2k, IMO. _____________________

That sounds like the Starax wand, which sadly is no longer sold. But I think there is an attempt at replacing it...

How come it's no longer sold? It does sound cool....... It was no-transfer and Starax has been gone from SL for about 3 years. (edit: yeah, I know about his alt LW but he's gone, too!! hopefully, he's got another alt somewhere - the grid is a lesser place with him not in it making cool stuff) _____________________

awww yumi..... I know what u mean about dropping things on HI, but this mentor was great fun, he was so entertaining and funny. This would have been around autumn 2006, so maybe the comment about 'starax' was right. Yes I have seen the tornado demo its very very cool. I am just looking for some magic tricks to entertain the masses.

There was a Starax wand exhibit on one of the rezzable regions last year - the one where they were selling all the Light Waves stuff. I think only about 1/2 the stuff in it worked but it was still really fun to play with..

How come it's no longer sold? It does sound cool....... As I understand it, at some point there was a bug in SL where objects rezzed by a scripted item would rez with full perms. As a result, a number of people stole full-perm copies of the wand's objects. I've seen several other products, including other wands, use effects taken in this way. |

i have something called staff of mages or something like that and it did a lot of neat things like that..some very wild animations and light shows wind just blowing like a hurricane is brewing..
i wonder if it still works or they are still around..you could get so many different neat spells for it.. I just used it for fun..the teleport is really neat..this vortex shows up and you put in where you want to go and then click and go.. it's probably out dated now.who knows. _____________________
