Hi, I'm stepping out of lurker mode here to ask a couple of questions.

First, I have a friend that is building a garden. She is always moving things around and it is one of theose projects that will never be finished, just an on going decoration and landscapeing projects. She has a small house there, one of those rose covered cottages you see common on fantasy sims.

So here is what I am needing. I would like to get a couple of pieces of furniture for the house. She spends all her effort on the garden. The cottage has a couple of pilliows, an MLP love seat and a fireplace. That's about it. Now I can find lots of ver nice furniture but nothing that really fits with the house and garden area. Most is either very modern or looks like it belongs in a banks waiting area. I have looked for fantasy themed places and found all the thrones anyone would ever need but that is not what Iam looking for. I guess I need something you would find in Snow White's cottage, but normal sized instead of Dwarven.

Does anyone know of any place like this? I need some girly furniture and am way out of my league in finding any.

Check out the "Roman" style furniture at Gnubie, if it's still there.

You don't mention the size of her lot, or her prim count. If she's on something small, you'll want to be careful of that as you're shopping ;)

That said, search low prim furniture, and there are several places around that may be able to give you what you're looking for.

Lot size is 8K. The house in question would fit on a 512 lot easily. I don't want to use more than about 60 or 75 prims; less is always better.

The land is group owned, but is her's as far as anyone is concerned. I mention that because I intend to deed the items to the group.

And if I could find something with cuddle animations, so much the better, but I had planned on having to add these later.

There are some really cool pieces of "furniture" at Fallingwater's garden right next to Shiny Things. Search for Shiny Things, teleport there, then instead of walking into the store, walk down the hill on the path. I love the chairs that look like leaves or petals or what not. Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but it's super cool and worth checking out.

Check Julia Hathor' profile. This lady has the best furniture and garden items in sl and not only that but she's one of the very few rare vendors who actually responds and doesn't hide when you call on her.

I don't go around endorsing vendors in sl but this person shouldn't be missed. Check it out and you'll see for yourself.

My partner's store, Arcadia Designs, has some really nice stained glass beds that might work well in a fantasy theme like that. They're menu-driven, but do include some nice cuddles as part of the menu. I think there are 5 or 6 different designs and colors. They're very cute and unique, and no, I'm not just saying that because he's my partner.....lol. I really do think they're unique. You can also find them on SLexchange under beds...just page through until you get to the L500 beds and you'll find them.

EDIT: And they're relatively low prim, too.

Pillow Talk has some furniture that I would classify as whimsical. And her poses can't be beat.
Or you could just buy some of her pillows and place them around the cottage.
I also have a furniture store, but I wouldn't call my stuff "cottage".

Yosef, taste in furniture is pretty personal, so I hope you know her well. I love gardens and fantasy themes, but cringe at 'girlie' frills. Maybe she likes that there's only a fireplace and pillows, sounds like heaven to me... What if she's not too crazy about what you pick out for her, but is so touched by your thoughtfulness that she feels she has to furnish her house with what you present her? How about a gift certificate? (I have to 2nd Pillow Talk) Of course, if you are close to her, and she's mentioned a few things that she would like (a passing comment on someone else's furniture), then that would be your biggest lead.

How about inviting her to go shopping with you. Tell her you need furniture and are not sure where to look. Once there, her tastes will be shown to you with comments like, "Ooh! Isn't that pretty?". Go back the next day and purchase it... ;)

Thanks all. Lots of good places to start looking.

Isabeau,
Yes, I know her very well. But thanks for remining me of one of the classic blunders men make ... I'll take her with me so we can pick out the furniture together. Actually the idea of filling the house with pillows is not a bad idea. She is a lioness and most of her friends are furries so the thought of one big puppy pile of cuddles sounds about right for her =^.^=

I don't know if it's exactly 'cottage-y,' but Rustica has an interesting variety of furniture.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
