Hello everyone and a big Happy New Year to all. I have been lurking in the forums for the past few months only posting the odd advert so now its time to ask for some help/advice on a problem I have been having over the last 24 hours from such a helpful bunch of people I have been finding that my standard skirts are not appearing on my ava even though they say that they are being worn in my inventory. Other avas are also seeing no skirt on me but I have no problems with trousers, prim skirts or tops. This problem has only started since I treated myself to another skin but am unsure if this is related because my old skin is having the problem now as well. Have tried rebaking to no avail and many different skirts and all are showing the same problem. Anyone else having this problem or know of a way to fix this please? Many Thanks in advance. Nikki

Is it just one skirt or have you tried various other skirts as well? Never had this issue myself =/

I doubt it's the skin, especially since it's happening with the old skin as well. Clear cache and relog - that might help, but others are seeing you without a skirt, so that would indicate that it isn't your cache, since your cache is on your computer and should affect what you see, but not necessarily what others see (I think). This is a weird problem.

If the skirts are moddable have you tried changing the length? Maybe even create a skirt and try adjusting it a few times? Does the skirt show in appearance mode at all? or the texture. Sometimes I have a problem where the only part of a skirt that shows is a little band around my waist like a belt, after i have messed around with the settings a few times though, this seems to go away.

I've had that problem before..........I fixed it by going to the pie menu > take off> all clothes. Then redressing. It fixed it for me.

Which viewer are you using? The Windlight viewer has a known bug with skirts disappearing! I'll see if I can find it... http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2778iirc, after the skirt gets borked in Windlight, it will have the problem in the regular viewer too...

Thanks so much and Happy New Year.

Hi Claire...ahhh now funny thing is the skirt does appear when i go into edit mode..so I adjust a little then go back to my original length etc and all then seems well! Oh this is strange and a headache for a girl LOL...Happy new year and thankyou.

Hi Crystal, I am using windlight and also just popped into the other viewer to see if it was happening there and it is as well. So we had a look at this link you gave and it seems the edit appearance work around is helping...so i am glad I dont have to walk around bottomless for the meantime some of my dresses have an underskirt under the flexi prim and when I was wearing all i had on was the top and flexi skirt so was not a good look with the rest exposed I hope this gets fixed. Thankyou and Happy new year.

It's a bug that happens to skirts and its been around for awhile. Sometimes the skirt will be white or will look like the surounding textures instead of how it should look. To get it to appear you need to go into apperance and move the length slider even one number and it will fix the issue. Of course the skirt needs to be mod so you might have to contact the seller and explain that you need a mod version of the skirt and why. Most will help you and give you a mod version of the skirt. Well maybe I shouldn't say most but I would

I have had this problem with the skirt section on my clothes and managed to fix it most time, though it can come back. Make sure you have the client option active in the menue at top of the SL window, Ctrl-Alt-Shift-D will activate this. Next go into edit appearance and your skirt should become visible, then while still in edit, rebake textures Ctrl-Alt-R and exit edit appearance. The skirt should stay visible, though the rebake will take a few minutes to complete and your clothing textures will go blurry while its doing this. I have had to do this a few times over the last month, and it has worked most times, although once or twice i had to relog and repeat before it took hold. Hope this helps you out, and have a great New Year all.
