Skin and Custom Tattoo

If I have a skin that is full perms is it possible to have it custom tattooed and save clothes layers. If so any suggestions to who may offer that service?

Right-click your avatar and go to Edit Appearance. Then, click the button towards the top left that says "skin."

You should see 3 small textures labeled as tattoos. These are the textures that make up your skin. The system skin does not have shading or any way to actually change the texture of the skin so we have relied on using the tattoo layer. Thus tattoos have relied on clothing layers.

In any case, with out those three textures, there is no way to add a tattoo to the skin graphic.

There are free to use and abuse files out there where you can add your tattoo graphics to the skin and then upload to SL. Eloh Elliot's files are the most well known, high quality ones out there.

Tattoos can be made in 3 possible ways:

1. The most common is a clothing layer. Tattoos you find in the shops are mostly made as clothing layers.

2. Tattoos can be made as textures. You can put them in your skin and keep them permanent in it. You will be able to wear clothing at the same time. Your skin needs to be MODIFY for it.

3. When your skin is not modify and you are not willing to have tattoos as a cloting layer they can be made as a PRIM-tattoo (some shops offer prim tatoos for little tattoos in the face). So you can attatch it to your body (everywhere) you want.
