Hi all.
Looking for some help here please, when I used to play SL back in '05 I used to hang out at a 'Furry Island', when I said that I mean everything you saw within the island was furry related. They had apartments, play grounds ect.
Does anyone know what SIM I am talking about here?
Thanks..

Thanks.. Benjamin there are soooo many "Furry" locations & estates now that are exclusively Furry in the their content and items for sale. Just use the in world search and you will find lots of Furry places. You can also type the word "Furry" into the sim map region box and a list of sims with that word in their name will appear.

Hi Void.
Thank you for your reply.
Just visited a few of the 'FurryNation' islands and it's not the one I was regarding.
I've tried to think of the name many of times, it had a mall within the islands, apartments, playgrounds ect.
If that may narrow it down a bit? hehe

Thank you for reply. I'm looking for one what I used to visit and had many friends there a very long time ago, it's okay going to other 'Furry' places but nothing would beat the one where I met a lot of nice people and I loved going to that place.

To be honest it's unlikely that the place you're thinking of still exists, and if it does, it won't be the same. Furnation spiraled into disarray, The Forest was taken back by Anshe, etc etc. Luskwood hasn't changed much in my two years of SL, it's pretty much the only furry place that isn't riddled with drama and/or constantly changing. The only furry themed area I know of that has both a mall and apartment rentals is Serenity Woods. It's run by the people that ran The Forest and is a pretty nice place. Pretty stereotypically furry though, which isn't to my taste.

The playground mention makes me think you might be looking for Luskwood, on the mainland so not exactly an island, but it spills onto a few sims and might feel like one.

Just been to Luskwood and chatting with the peeps there. The place I were looking for was 'Taco' and I've heard now it's closed down, I met a lot of friends there and now heard also that the founders don't ''really'' play the game much anymore? Shame though. Thanks all.

Oh I greatly miss Taco, it was possibly one of the first places I was introduced to when I joined SL. I loved the vendors there, and always hoped to be able to vend there someday.

It's still around. A map search brings it right up.
As for luskwood, I would suggest avoiding them. Things that I've witnessed there lead me to believe one of the owners has a remote listener on the premises; either that, or people are around that will quickly send any misplaced words up the chain. They also have the reputation of being elitists in other furry circles.
I'm also not too keen on the administration of the Ryder sims. Seems like if you're not in lockstep with their views, you'll earn yourself an estate ban despite a lack of any real wrongdoing.

Ryder isn't furry themed though, and isn't old enough to be the OP's spot anyway, which is why I didn't list it as a candidate. As for you personally, I'm not bringing that topic out here myself. Whether you were trying to bait me or not, it kind of doesn't matter since I had nothing to do with your "issue". Taco...I miss Taco It was so cute and toony and silly. Recently someone else started to build a new toon sim, it had a lot of promise, but then he left SL, I don't know why. I kinda wish someone would walk in the footsteps of Taco and build a new toon sim. Something straight out of the Saturday morning cartoons we grew up with.

There's a new "toon" island, but I forgot the name of it. IIRC it's run by Aiot Gynoid, and should be in their picks. It's never gotten the critical mass that Taco has.

-Crunch To be honest, I'm not surprised it went away again. I remember happening upon it back on the mainland, in one of the slavic-named sims. Finding anyone else there was a rarity, and later, it was replaced by a Sonic (the Hedgehog)-themed place. When he resurrected the idea in the island he had (after kicking the StHers out), I predicted this exact result, simply based on what I'd known before, plus things he'd said then. See, when it was back in Novgorod, he had this absolutely AWESOME replica of Outset Island up in the sky, and was a place I enjoyed being at. Unfortunately, when the island Sonic sim got wiped, he'd said he wouldn't 'have any copyrighted builds'...I figured it would last even less time than before, so... yeah. Anyway, I've found that FurNation is.... alright. People are nice, but the land itself is... well, the same kind of themeless mixture as you'd find on the mainland. That is, apart from the adfarms, anyway. Real glad you don't see them there. They do have a couple truly-open sandbox areas, though, so that's a plus. And Maya, I'm just detailing my experiences. I do however apologize for thinking you were furry... I'd forgotten your bunch doesn't like a good portion of us. You might construe this as me actually giving a god damn about what happens over there. I don't. It could reach my ears that you've been overrun with SA goons, W-Hats and PNs, and I'd just shrug. Same for hearing it's become a Mecca of SL. Whatever, just keep to your part of SL, and I'll keep to mine.

You're certainly welcome to your opinion about Luskwood, its administrators, and how we run things, of course. But, for the record, I will state unequivocally there there are no remote listening devices on any of our property - besides being unethical, such would be a definite and severe violation of the LL Terms of Service. Having made that point clear, I'll abstain from further feeding the troll. Have a nice day .

Aiot and his Toon army are back. His new project is called Toon Islands. I was there yesterday, and it looks like it's going to be a more chaotic version of things he has done in the past.
Try IMing Aiot Gynoid. He's always got something up his sleeve.

*Sighs* Taco was a fun sim, yes. I was very sad when it closed.
"The Forest" is another early Furry sim that died, swallowed by a certain land baroness, and then slowly smothered. The sim no longer exists.
The last I saw, Serenity Woods was still doing OK as a furry community. Haven't spent much time there lately, but it is still alive.

Oh Taco, I always wanted to vend there as well. I was obsessed with shopping there, and went there for fun personal photo shoots. Also one of my first SL places. I still have some stuff I bought there, and Taco landmarks...*sigh*
Haven't been to Serenity Woods in a while, I should go check it out again.
