Buying Land on a Linden Tier

I'm wanting to use up my 512 sqm and buy something small just for fun. It seems most of the land I find is something in an area where there are just houses or ad farms and for the life of me I can't figure out that land buying grid. Everything always comes back not available or some other error message.

Are there any inexpensive 512 plots on linden land where I can put a feed to my radiocast, a skybox, and a landing that would have some things for customers to look at inside and a teleport to my actual pub?

Thanks,

This depends upon what you consider inexpensive. You can land in a nice sim, click map and look for the yellow parts and see what is available.

You can trawl through the land search and hope you find something nice. The first page is generally not good land, but, you do sometimes find bargains there. Ensure you search by mainland only.

Just to double-check, you are a Premium member right? Because only Premium members can buy land.

Could you give us some kind of idea of what kind of area you're looking for? Being surrounded by "houses and ad farms" is pretty typical for large portions of mainland. You'll need to search awhile to find something better, and it will cost you more.

One of the best ways to figure out what is for sale in a sim is to turn on View > Land Owners. The tan areas are for sale, red areas are not.

Tan? Time for a new monitor, Beebo!!

For-sale land seems quite yellow to me.

hey thanks for all that info :) i'm thinking more of a business area where there might be more travelers as opposed to homes. i do have a premium account and trying to figure out what to do with my included tier.

it doesn't need to be premium, nice pretty land, just something that people will see easily and others won't be offended if i have a nice naughty stream going through.

Heh. Gold, maybe? Not yellow.

And my monitor is pretty new, so maybe it's yours... :D

Hm.. Maybe you're right! :(

/me just checked the source, getting ready to quote code and QED you, and it looks like it's set to r=255, g=128, b=0, which (on my work monitor) doesn't look at all like what I see at home..

The other colors all look like I expected.. Weird..

like others have said use your map and make sure you have show land for sale ticked, it'll come up as yellow/gold on the map, there are quite a few 512's on the sim next to me, i'm at spidermouse. i'd suggest just having a walk around mainland and opening up the map every now and then, there's usually heaps of 512 lots
