I just right click and choose edit on one of my hud items and then roll the middle mouse wheel to make the entire hud screen zoom out. I can usually see the missing hud piece and drag it back into the visible area. Then I use the mouse wheel again to zoom back to normal hud view and edit the hud. Be sure to detach and reattach it to save the position.

In some cases the hud may be turned invisible (transparent), in which case you would do whatever the particular hud wants to make it be visible again. type /show or some such.
In other cases the hud is positioned off screen, where you can't see it to edit it and move it back onscreen. Attach the troublesome hud, get to a place where you can build, create a cube, attach the cube as a hud, in the center if possible. Right click the center hud and select edit. Zoom out with your scroll bar. You should become able to see the badly placed hud. Adjust it to where it is inside the white rectangle, then it should be positioned to where you can see it. Detach the center box hud and fine tune the real hud's position as needed. _____________________

Bree's approach is a bit better than mine, I guess I'm thinking of what I did when HUDs first appeared and I didn't have any other HUDs in inventory.
Bree has the best signature image. _____________________

Thankfully without a mouse wheel you can also edit then alt-click on another hud item to zoom out your hud display too.
![]() I've also seen a hud item that needed to be rotated 90 degrees to be seen. It was flat, so on edge was "missing"... ![]() _____________________

also, there is a known bug, when attaching a hud item from the ground, that will make the hud go invisible, the solution is to take it off and rewear it. (also happens when 'drop'ing a hud item to the ground)
