Is possible to mute some objects from nearby parcel (other sim) ?
Objects should be muted for all visitors at my plot.

Each av has to mute each object. As far as I know, there's no shortcut.

Are you trying to turn off actual sounds that they are making, like crickets chirping or water splashing? If so, you can click a box in your About Land window, something like "restrict sound to this parcel".

If you are talking about objects that are talking in the Chat channel, those have to be muted by each individual person who doesn't want to hear them.

No, but can also be useful.

Yes, I was asking about this.
Talking chat channels don't bother me but maybe screen full of shouts can bother my customers.

Pinos, have you tried talking to your neighbour and asking them if they could/would reduce the audio range of their objects?

You should talk to your neighbor about this and see if you can find a solution that's acceptable to all. I recommend meeting them first and establishing a relationship of cooperation before even bringing up the shouting issue. Also, ask whether there's anything you can do on your property to enhance theirs.

Worth a try, even though the percentages may not be terribly high with that approach. If it doesn't work, file a report. You shouldn't need to put up with shouting objects in your parcel.

It would be nice to have sound barriers in SL!

Why is it that when muting an object, I cannot also mute the sound it makes? That makes no sense to me at all.

As an example, the fireplace sound in a friend's apartment next door.

If I'm not mistaken, if you ban the owner of the objects from your parcel, that will mute all chat from that owner plus their objects.

Of course, I'd try diplomacy first before you ban. But if that fails, you do have options.

Good luck! :)

Hmmm, that's weird. One time I was investigating a griefer's screaming ninja turtle cubes, and muting the owner made the sound of the screaming stop. That was in an older client, though... does it not work anymore?

Even if not, you can check "restrict spacialized sound to this parcel", and that will shield you from noises from other parcels. Unless you are not on separate parcels, of course. :)

I agree you both said. Is best way to do.
But i didn't because I know they can't reduce audible range.
They wouldn't be able to cover their plot well and they have to do their bussines.
I repeat, those shouts don't bother me (I can always mute it for myself, but I didn't), but maybe could distract potential buyers. So I thought maybe is possible to limit range by property. That would be best solution for all. If not, I don't care so much.

Yes, if thats true it would be an option, but I'd never ban someone before "diplomacy" :-)

The house next door to me has wind chimes in the front yard. It was nice when I first moved in but after two weeks they were driving me crazy. I was able to mute the sound without any problem.

Now that I know about the "restrict spacialized sound" setting I just turned that on. Not only does that mute the wind chimes, it also mutes the waves from the ocean in another neighbor's lot.
