How do I sell?

I would like to start selling linden $ for USD$ but i'm not sure how to start. Also how would I convert any USD i get to real money? I tried looking at the instructions for selling but i'm pretty unsure of what to do? Can anybody help me please.

Got payment info on file? Been activated with LindenX? Then you can use Paypal or one of the private people around.

Do you have to use lindenx or can you use xstreetsl? If my payment info is on file can linden labs charge me for selling linden from my bank or credit card?

You can use either the LindeX or the XStreetSL currency exchange. To either buy or sell $L, you have to have Payment Info on File...either a credit card or a verified PayPal account. The PayPal account is better, in my opinion, because you cannot send $US to your credit card...but you can use PayPal in both directions, to send OR receive money.

In the past, I always recommended XStreet over the Lindex, as they provided faster and more reliable service. I'm not sure that is the case any more under the new LL management of XStreet.

There is a 3.5% currency conversion charge that's applied when you convert $L to $US. That comes out of your currency transaction, it's not charged to your PayPal account.

If you do it via the LindenX:
1) Go to your Account page
2) Left hand side, under Linden Exchange, click on Manage
3) When it expands, click on Sell L$ (top area labeled "Market Sell"
4) Enter the amount of L$ you want to sell and click "Sell"

After they sell, your Account Summary page will show a balance in US$ and I *think* that will then give you an option to request Credit or something like that. That will allow you to have the money sent back to your Paypal account - then log in to paypal and request the money be sent to your bank account. If you don't use paypal, but instead have a credit card on file, I am not sure if you can do it.


To do it via Xstreet, you have to first transfer the money from inworld to your Xstreet account -- either via an inworld Xstreet terminal or using their freebie Remote Deposit box. Then on the Xstreet website:
1) Click on SLL Balance at the top left
2) In the middle, under Account Functions, click on My Currency Exchange Orders
3) Then click Sell SLL
4) Enter the amount you want to sell and click Place Order

When the sale occurs, your Xstreet will show money for the USD Balance in the top left box. Then click on 'withdraw' underneath that balance and that will then let you send the money back to Paypal. Again, if your payment method is credit card, I do not know if you can do that.

You can also sell via other sites. Do not HAVE to use xstreet or lindex.
