Question About Underwater Sims

Are there any underwater sims where no "attacking" creatures (sharks, octopuses, etc.) prevail? I'd really like to take a stab at scuba diving soon and I'd like to make sure I get the best out of an underwater sim.

I know Dolphin's Reef contains no sharks, and Acropolis Gardens does have an octopus or two (I'm uncertain if it attacks or not). Any other recommendations?

Acropolis Gardens is really cool for scuba diving (the octopus does not attack). I have a few other LMs in inventory, but drawing a blank at the moment, so I'll did them up and send them when I get inworld in a bit.

Try the Gulf of Lauren, north of Daley Bay in Bay City, the Bingo Strait west of Nautilus City, or the Degrand Channel just east of Degrand. All are mainland Mole builds of recent construction. Nothing in them attacks (though there are sharks and Octopi, they are of the non harming variety), an there's a lot of nice scenery.

The mainland sim Rua has some wonderful reefs and underwater gardens.

Also the brand new pair of sims Cocos Islands which were created for the Cocos Islands Tourist Bureau.

Those sound like good sims. Any sharks or octopuses that attack? I'm just screening before I try them out.

Rua is safe. I have yet to see sea life in SL that attacks. The closest thing was a shark that just followed you and when it touched you it just said something that it ate you.

Sea creatures are mostly scripted to swim around in a circular pattern or predetermined path.

Yeah. I am not one to say this, but I was bitten by a shark in SL last April at Bishara Beach. I was underwater, but I couldn't fly out as it was a no fly zone. A message displaying ";(insert words here) takes a bite out of Pyrite Sopwith!" prevailed endlessly, and I was scared at my PC, and logged off. When I logged on again, I teleported out of the area in a heartbeat. I instantly deleted Bishara Beach from my landmark inventory and said "Goodbye and good riddance" when I removed it.

Danielle, a word of advice: Never EVER go to Bishara Beach. Go with Ren's advice and head to Rua.

BTW, Ren, you mentioned the shark eating the avatar in the same paragraph that started "Rua is safe." Do you mean there are sharks in Rua that bite?

Unless something has changed, Nautilus City is surrounded by lots of neat things underwater on the sims next to the city. There are jellyfish, sharks, etc., but none of them attack.

As a precaution, I'll pass on Nautilus City for now. Even seeing sharks gives me "heebie-jeebies."

And Danielle, when I was last logged onto SL, I was exploring Rua region, and it's a green light for you to explore this sim. It is so spectacular indeed. Try it out!

I make several creatures that attack and bump you around. See the demo's at my store in Shona. Teleport to the underwater area. :)

I have built four small wreck dive sits on the main land.
I do set out sharks that attack, and bleed a diver, but if one fights back {I-E } pushs it back they usually leave. When the time come if theres a group that dosn't like them it easy to remove them for the day.As of yet my sites are not open to the public.

Danielle and I did explore the Rua underwater region earlier this afternoon, and she loves it like it's paradise. She wishes to return again, as do I.

Now to try out the Cocos Islands soon. Just want to make sure if there are no sharks or attacking creatures there before I give it a go.

No sharks at Rua, not last time I was there. The shark that did that is found at Artificial Isle. His name is Bruce the Hammerhead Shark and he used to have a head mounted "laser" :) When he got close the Jaws theme song would play then *chomp*

He kicked that habit though :)

Anyway, another good place to visit is EmeraldEver Cline's Mertopia.

Again, no sharks or attacking creatures prevail at EmeraldEver Cline's Mertopia?
