Half way through the day and we are already at 60 million lindens traded. i think the old record was just over 100 million.

Possibly.

What I think is happening is people are paying their monthly rental tier today (1 July) to many of the various land barons on the grid. Who are subsequently selling $L just as fast as tenants are buying it to pay rent.

I'm not really a big part of that because I'm anachronistically 'week to week' but many estate owners do a month-to-month schedule. As such it seems the trading has established a nice signature on the LindeX volume.

Another possibility: anyone keeping an eye on Supply Linden? I forgot if there are monthly trade limits - I'd guess this would be a smaller factor, but if there was ever a time to toss a fishing line into the money supply the monthly changeover would be it.

Supply Linden must be in effect. I have a sell order in at 263L since April that hasn't budged, thanks primarily to Supply Linden.

Yea, beginning of every month sees heavy volume.

112 million yesterday, I think that is a new record.
