My rent is about to run out. Just 4 days left. It's not like I don't have the lindens or that I don't know it is running out. I usually run a couple of weeks in advance, so when I was down to a week I logged in to pay my rent. Been trying for 3 days now, so far I have been either unable to log in, crash as soon as I do, lag to the point of watching a photo of my AV waiting for stuff to rez, been ruthed, drifted in to the nothingness as sone as I tried to move, crashed on teleport, laggout on teleport, got logged off on teleport, and am about to quit this and let my rent run out. I just need to get to SLX and withdraw some lindens and pay my rent. Shouldn't take 5 minutes. 3 DAYS and haven't managed it yet.

IM the owner, tell them about your problem and ask if you can just pay their profile.

Give me the name of your landlord in PM and I will log on and send an IM of this message to them.

Indeed.

[UNRESOLVED]

Have you tried unistalling SL and reinstalling? There could be something that is hung up somewhere. That actaully worked for me before.

Oh, that's not the problem. I have e-mails for the sim owner and landlords. The problem is this SL crap. I don't do much on SL because I can't. I have things I would like to be doing, but more often then not I end up crashing or having to log out.
As I've said, I am ready to let my rent run out and just be done with SL. I've been on SL for a year, and have been watching it's steady down hill slide. Things just steadily get worse. I keep waiting for the "better" I read about, but it just ain't happening.

What are your specs? Are you using a mac? Only asking because someone else was describing similar issues not long back and they're using a mac.

Been here long enough to know all the quick fixes and cures. It's not a problem on my end. It's SL. When I first started it was more fun then glitch, now it is more glitch then fun.
Oh I know come Monday or Tuesday things will be running as smooth as ever; but that's not saying much. But it has gotten to the point where I don't want to start any projects that I can't finish that day. SL may not be working the next day. It may be 2 or 3 days before I can get on and do some work. When I first started I could work for hours day after day; ya, I was spending waaayy too much time on SL. But now, I'm lucky if I can actually log in and work 3 days in a row. 2 weeks ago I was running around, medium settings, 512 draw distance and no lag. yesterday I watched my ruthed AV float in a T pose for half an hour, waiting for things to rez enough to check my rent, then crashed when I moved. And then I couldn't log back in.
Today I logged in, and waited for things to rez up. While waiting I read an IM from and customer and tried to IM them back. Ya, much fun, then lllaaaggggggeeedd out.

I'll do the usually clean out and try again this evening. but man, this got old 3 months ago.

Not to rub salt in the wounds or anything, but most people are just not having the problems described here. That's not to say everything is great all the time, but the OP describes a vastly worse experience than any I've heard in a long time. So, yeah, I can sure see why, under those circumstances, one might be frustrated and not much motivated to "re-up" the rent. But I'm not sure if this is a request for suggestions on how to fix the problem(s) (in which case we'd at least need to know all those details in Help / About Second Life), or if it's just an expression of parting despair.

Is it always the same sim(s) that won't work? I had trouble with one of my home sims a while back and had it restarted several times.

Are you using the RC viewer at all? I have noticed that lots of people are unstable due to that - switch to the released candidate and see if that is better. Other than that perhaps it is some part of your hardware that is failing - perhaps your memory has become unreliable?

I have to say I am rock solid stable on the released viewer. I almost never crash at all - sometime stick for a bit but then it always comes right again. The viewer may not be the problem unless you are using the RC.
