for some reason everytime I run my bot program and log intto my main account aat the same time neither AV is w2eaaring clothes from what everyone has told me.

i am using thoy's sl bot for my bot software, on my screen my av appears to be clothed and the not is nude even though it's clearly reporting both on the program and when I ask it to list off worn clothing on IM to be wearing clothes

someone said that going in and back out of edit appearance would help but the bot does not have that option.

also it refuses to teleport into adult areas even though the account is age verified. any ideas on how to fix either of these would be more than welcome.

thanks yall in advance for the help

Have you tried the command to make the bot wear clothes?

From: someone
/wear [objectname/dirname] -- wears an inventory item or directory.

from the instructions dispenser at the bot store at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Jaikwil%20Buildings%20nl/226/5/430

I have no idea if this could make a difference, maybe someone else will know - can you have a port conflict between a regular viewer and a bot?

Have you logged in as the bot account using a regular viewer and put some clothes on it?

At least your bot loads. I'm at Thoy's Store now and the two models I "see" are nothing but puff clouds.

I'm so sorry this happened to you.

...

:D

(Actually, I have no idea. I used to have horrendous problems with avatar textures using libsecondlife, but that was ages ago. I've also noticed some kind of cross-talk between multiple viewers--even regular viewers--on the same machine when they go in and out of Edit Appearance. Obviously something is going horribly wrong with the baking and texture-uploading process, so I'd suggest running *only* the bot and following Suezanne's suggestion, then killing the bot and doing the same with your main before bringing the bot in-world again.)

you have to get the beta version for the avatars to load right, just go to support on the thoys SL bot website and open a ticket asking about it.

but still they load nude whether I use the wear command or login to the account myself and put the clothes on by hand

I don't have any answers for the problem, but I can say that dressing OpenMV/libSL bots isn't as reliable as it is with a viewer. I have two groups of bots - a group of 4 on the ground and a group of 6 in the store. The groups use the same computer and each group runs in a seperate instance of the OpenMV bot programme, but they don't log in simultaneously. I log one group in and, when they are all done and dusted, I log the other group in. Within each group, the bots log in and get dressed one at a time, with a delay before logging the next one in. They are a little under a minute apart. I described all that to show that each bot's login, dressing and rezzing, is not expected to interfere with any other bot.

What I find is that those on the ground almost always dress and rez perfectly and quickly, but I sometimes have difficulties with one or more of the store bots, and I assume that it's because there isn't much on the ground in the way objects and textures, whereas the store is full of other stuff. To be honest, I don't know how OpenMV treats objects and textures. I imagine that the server simply sends everything without being asked, but I don't know.

Today, for instance, the group on the ground logged in perfectly, but two of the store ones remained clouds. It took a number of 'encouragements' to dress them before they were both rezzed - one sooner than the other. In fact I relogged one of them and still had to encourage it to get dressed and rez. Even then, I left that one without any hair :)

As I said, I don't have any answers, but you might like to try logging your bot in at a place where there isn't much around in the way of objects and textures.

About the nakedness: I always log my alt in to see that the bots dress and rez ok and, when one ends up naked, as sometimes happens, it is always fully dressed first. I see just a fraction of a second of the fully dressed bot and then its clothes come off. I can always get it dressed after that by 'encouraging' it, but it can take several attempts. By 'encouraging', I mean using the 'wear {outfit}' command and/or the 'appearance' command (which isn't the same as going into Appearance), and often resorting to both.

Make the most of it - set your rez location to a nude beach.

Get the Linden clothing templates, and upload them and use them to make a new skin layer for the bot. Some crash-test-dummy-chic UV-map effects on them and nobody will complain.

My bots are like real people and they won't do anything if it smacks of being an order. They need coaxing with encouragements :D
