They still do, and that's probably fine, as long as people remember that buying L$ on eBay is NOT a good idea.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Good advice!

I think ebay is a good tool if you create one of a kind content and want to auction it to the highest bidder.

Few things I seen on ebay related to SL are scams, selling Lindens example 20,000 for 96 usd, freebies, books on how to take every texture in SL,etc.

Oh you mean stuff you have bought and want to sell on second hand. Should be able to do that on XStreet. Although that would be a guess.

Yes, XSt. is set up to do that, offering a way to say how many copies you might have for sale of a second hand item. They also offer free hosting for the delivery boxes for a month or so if you don't have a place you can rez a prim... :)

(Detox, XSt. is both a combination in world and website, it crosses over between the two, it's exactly what you described, "a web based place to sell transferable items".)

You simply put the item in the "magic box", say what it is on the website along with a pic, price and quantity. ;)

Here's a link to their info on selling:

There are also "yard sales" in Second Life.

As Lindal said, Yard Sales....

The problem with an ebay system for SL would be the same problem the RL ebay has - full of merchants selling regular "buy it now" goods.

The buy it now is how you make money on ebay. I've been a seller for years there for rl goods and I always offer a buy it now and on my auctions I do have reserves.

I'm not sure what your point is.
