Whilst doing the rounds of my stock replacing the missing ~pos scripts in mlp (and how come people arent up in arms about this? they will find out if they shutdown items)
i discovered a batch of prims marked mod/copy/trans which i KNOW i didn't set, i have the same items elsewhere all set at resell/trans only....
is this an old error i didnt know about so never fixed? or is it new? i recall problems with item values when linked and unlinked a while back? now fixed...
Luckily the items involved arent big sellers but ...phew....
My sims being restarted be interesting to see what i get bact to...:(

if the items were marked full perm and you made the perm changes in your inventory, it doesn't always take

(prim items that is)

speaking of permissions, I have been having some items change permission on me (stuff I made)
nothing has gone full perm though, usually just reverts back to transfer

no these were some saleboxes and an item i made a while back, i always set permissions via edit on the prims never via inventory. I have checked the same items elsewhere and all are ok. I'm wondering if i linked them to move them at some time and upon unlinking the permissions got borked? if the root prim was full perms? although i really can't recall having anything around that is full perms as you have to actively set that and my paranoia is such that even things not being sold wouldn't get full perm allocation...

i'm really lucky that i haven't sold a lot of full perms now without realising however i think i might notice a 'run' of sales on certain items. Players are cute i sold several items once due to a price error luckily i was around to quickly correct it....

hmmmm i think linking must of caused it around the time linked items were all taking the final value when unlinked? Some of the wall boards and display object stands seem to be full perm despite not being for sale so might of transferred their permissions somehow?

It happens. Frankly, a lot. I've had permissions glitch on several items, most recently a set of freebie avatars which kept reverting to full perm (we wanted them no trans).

Sometimes, it will cascade--in other words, not only the item in inventory, but all copies with it. The worst was my old non-sculpt horses. The original animation script I used glitched to no-copy, and since EVERY horse I made after the glitched horse used that script, suddenly all my horses were no copy, even including ones in vendors that were set correctly. They had five prims a leg, each with a script, each leg had three positions, for a total of 60 scripts to fix per horse, with 8 models at the time (one of MANY reasons I moved to lower prim sculpted horses).

It was a looooong week, made longer by all the frantic customer service calls I kept getting :/

Permissions are possibly the most annoying thing in SL.

i find the whole permissions system to be both tedious and untrustworthy.
i think im going to send an alt into the store to buy every item and check perms, esp on the scripts. ll really need to lock this down, and while theyre at it they need to come up with a better way to set perms on multiple items.

well something odd happened to me today as well. My partner goes behind me and checks my work, and will visit various satellites to make sure everything is ok, permissions are right, prices are right, landmarks are in etc. Tonite I logged on and he messaged me that in one satellite an item was not for sale, and in another the same item had nothing in the box. I fixed the first, went to the second and fixed that and told him I was gonna check the item in my shop and he said he just checked it yesterday and it was fine. I went and checked anyway, same item, and nothing in the box. Yet 2 days ago, I sold that outfit from my shop and if nothing had been in the box I'm pretty sure I would have heard about it. I ended up having to check everything...but everything else was ok.
