Well, I tried joining one for about two weeks now and the people have not even written me back. So I'm looking for another Am hoping to do a freebie/dollarbie sale for my BDay that's coming up but really running out of time. I don't really care much for the Group search feature as it isn't seeming to show me what I'm looking for. Anyone have any suggestions? Feel free to send invites!

I give up on freestyle, apparently they don't want me. All their people either Declined my request notecard or simply never wrote back.
Will check out Sales though =)

I use Fab Free. All that having to wait for a tag and whatever else from Freestyle really put me off pursuing that group.

Does Fab Free pay any attention to men's things? The notices at FREE*STYLE usually specify if they see something for the guys. I just searched Groups for Fab Free (in several renditions) and found nothing. A similar search under "all" was no more useful. If anyone could help me join or investigate FabFree I'd appreciate that. TIA

i run a cost free group called PURE..its mostly for great freebies i find sometimes for fabulous places to visit, sales, fairs etc..(i always check out landmarks given to me to make sure they are good quality itms up for grabs) and also its used for our monthly F.A.B gift. Members are entitled to ask for a notice to advertise their gifts or sales or freeebies too!
Its open membership, join if you want too..or dont if youre not so inclined-
(btw our store called F.A.B Is notihng to do with the afore mentioned FAB Free above in another post)

how do you make stuff a freebie? got alot of stuff that i`m converting slowly for freebie release but how does one do it?
not going to dedicate a corner for only a couple of items wich won`t see the daylight or anyone tp`ing to it

hi alicia ! ill message you later when its not 3am about the note ty!
Couple of things spring to mind...make an account on slx or onrez...and give them as freebies. both are free to set up and youll reach a greater audience . If you need a space for the inworld box for either i can accomodate you...let freebie groups know what youve got and they can give out a landmark or , as you mentioned as an attachment- not sure a house would be great as an attachment if they dont know how many prims !
speak to you soon! Fai x

no problem& thanks the house is just 1 of several and it still needs a box got several more of way way back that just need new permissions set and repacked bunch of scripts i can`t even remember having made etc etc, slow work converting while getting the island into shape for the public and my own relaxing view just don`t want it ending up in some sort of biab box or any crap like that, if you get my drift

Alicia - the normal permissions for freebies are to make them no-transfer. This ensures that someone cannot just come and get lots of them for free and turn around an resell them. Making an item a freebie is really nothing than setting it to sale for L$0 or L$1 and fixing the permissions so it cannot get resold. Usually the best way is to box it, setting it to give 'contents' - this will give the user a folder of the stuff rather than just an object that they must then unpack somewhere. The full name of the Fab Free group is Fabulously Free -- search for that name to find them. Free Style can get rough for a designer to get in to if Cookie is on vacation or really busy. Regardless of the various notecards and blog info, I seem never to be able to get a response from anyone except Cookie herself. Web blogs for some of the freebie sites -- I do not know if they all have inworld groups to join: Fabulously Free in SL: http://fabfree.wordpress.com/Free Style: http://slfreestyle.blogspot.com/Freebies in a Virtual World: http://virtual-freebies.blogspot.com/Freebie Obsession: http://freebieobsession.weebly.com/best-freebie-departments.html

Hmmm.. Coolies Think I'll try joining both Pure and Fab Free. And very good note on the 'no transfer'. It is annoying, especially when its a popular freebie item but it makes perfect sense for less common items.

TIA Drivin, the Fabulously Free group (to give it its full name) does sometimes feature men's items, but you might also be interested in the Free Finds For Men group. They cater specifically for the guys on SL, and they have a blog as well: http://freefindsformen.blogspot.com/Once you're in the group (from memory it's open membership and free to join) any group member can send notices out.
