Sorry to post this here, but I am at my wits end. I am looking for places that sell those large backgrounds that you see many Sims/properties surrounded by. I have done searches both here and inworld on every combination of words possible, but no luck. Particularly am looking for mountain/forest backgrounds.
Thanks!

Hi Shifting, A lot of those are probably mega-prims with simple photographs added to them as textures. There are lots of places that you can pick up packs of mega-prims (I'm pretty sure SLX [aka ]www.slexchange.com] has one for either cheap or free.) Any pretty photograph that you have, you can upload to SecondLife, and then put it on your new mega-prim.

There are some of those with mountains and forests in the Spirit Fens sim. You can edit them to find the creators name, and look in their profile to try to find the shop or IM the creator and ask to buy a set.

Have you tried searching for "privacy screen" or similar type terms? That's what I used when I was looking for such things at one time, and I did find a pile of stuff that way. In my case, it turned out that a more effective solution for me was to make invisiprim screens myself, since the thing I wanted to block was giant rotating for-sale signs which had alpha textures in themselves - the invisiprim screens did a splendid job of blocking those, while avoiding the whole "I've just stuck a great big mural up on my boundary" look that wasn't working for me in my situation at that time. And for extra bonus points, as soon as my ad-happy neighbour noticed that I'd put the screens up, they immediately reduced the size of their for-sale ads and made them more tasteful. So I got to take my screens down again after a few days, and the neighbour got to have their for-sale signs visible to folk on my land without annoying the hell out of me. So everyone was happy!

From: Shifting Dreamscape Thanks for the help all!
Nimbus .. what are invis prim screens and how do you make them? It's a screen (ie a cubical prim that is stretched so that it is 10m x 10m x however thin you like) which has the Invisiprim Script in it. The invisiprim script applies a "special" texture to the prim with some rather unique properties that basically mean that anything completely inside the prim, or anything that is behind the prim (from your viewpoint) that has any element of transparency in its texture, completely disappears. So in my case, what happens is that when I put up an invisiprim screen, I see completely solid items that are behind it (treetrunks, say) but I don't see partially-transparent items (tree leaves, Linden water, building windows, ad signs that are partially transparent, etc). It's a slightly odd effect, but it was better for me than a big solid screen with a picture on. If you want a copy of the invisiprim script, I have it set out on the Freebie Shelf (along with other useful free items) out front of my store. Click on the box to take a copy of the box it's in, and save the script into your inventory, then drag that script into the Contents tab of a prim that you want to make invisible in this way (I suggest you position the prim first!). And voila, you have an invisprim! The location of my store is in my sig, if you want to grab a copy of the script from there; it's also available from a bunch of other places inworld as well, but I don't recall where off the top of my head. Hope that helps!

A lot of women's shoe heels have invisiprims, so that you don't see the avatar heel...

I'm going to drop two 32x32 panels on your profile. One is Washington Rain Forest, and one is Dark Forest. The texture is on one side, and the other side is invisible (so if you don't see it when you rezz it, look on the other side!).
I find that to be more neighbor friendly. I don't have to look at them, but they don't have to look at my big walls, because it isn't visible on their side.

Thanks to everyone for your help, great amount of information that I now need to go out and explore.
--Princess-- Got the panels, they look great and I will see if they fit into the hillside property I was looking at.

From: Honey Balogh go to Inkwell...best looking screens I've ever seen I was going to post this when I saw the forum title. Inkwelle has fantastic screens, in various themes and sizes. The one thing I particularly like about them is that the tops of the trees/mountains are cut out using an alpha channel so that they look real, rather than having either the top of the tree cut off at the top of the screen or having a sky image at the top that never matches the actual sky. There are also some nice screens with similar properties at REZolution. Unfortuantely, the owner won't respond to my (polite, repeated about a week apart in case of confusion) IMs or notecards about a screen I have seen installed several places in SL but aren't in any of her stores, so I'm not sure I recommend them based on my being able to get any customer service.
