Anyone else getting stuck in furniture?

One of my customers is reporting that avatars are getting stuck in a chair he purchased from me, and they can't get off the chair unless they teleport to another location. I've never heard of this before.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is it just SL being wacky? Any known remedy?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I've seen this happen if the object is close too walls or other objects. Dunno if that's what's happening but you might want to ask them to move the chair so that it's got a bit more room around it. Maybe put it in an open area and see which direction people go when they get up and have him make sure it's got more room in that direction.

If your chair is mod-enabled, he can also try setting it to be phantom. That works well on the James Bond furniture with ejector cushions.

This happens in RL too.

I know a few people that have been stuck in their sofa in front of the TV for years.

I have had this happen, especially when I am trying to make furniture for tinies. As suggested if a piece of furniture is too close to the wall it can make it much worse. I've spent hours before adjusting the position of the pose, and the shape of the furniture trying to eliminate this problem ( and the James Bond eject) as much as possible.

my avatar gets stuck on everything she sits on. Especially when on a posing stand and I'm building around her. I'd think it had something to do with those prims if it didn't happen almost everytime I sat on anything.

I accidentally folded my cat up in my futon when I was 14.

I saw this happening alot a couple of weeks ago on some of my items that had previously never displayed this problem. It seems to have gotten better now though. While this was going on I did find a couple of things that helped reduce the effect. Making the item phantom worked. On many of the items I was able to make the highest prim in the object the sit prim, that normally pulled the avatar far enough above the item to not get stuck in it on unsit.

I have this happen with furniture too close to walls, but with those I can usually just jump up and over the furniture to get unstuck. The bigger "stuck" problem I have is with a lot of patio and garden furniture with umbrella's on them...when I get up from the chair, I end up standing on the chair with my head stuck under the umbrella, the only way to get out of that one is to teleport....I've had this problem with a lot of patio furniture made by various designers.

I found it Happens if the Verticle Offset in the Pose script places the location of the Pose Too close to Y=0.0 if the offset raised by .25 meters those using the Poses don't get Stuck.
