Second Life Bots...

I was wondering lot of sims have bot chars example skin selling sims have the chars on display with the skins..

I kind of also wanted to do this but not sure whats a free bot that would work great and not get kicked after 30min..

Not free, but I HIGHLY recommend the JVA Multi-Purpose Bot for Second Life. It costs L$3000, but the features are pretty decent, and in my opinion with over 5 months running the software, it's well worth the investment.

Why would you use this when you can run a few Sleek bots for free?

If all you want is an avatar body to stand around looking pretty, you don't really need a bot. 'Bot' usually means an externally scripted avatars capable of interacting with SL. They are capable of chatting (unconvincingly), buying land, taking photographs and other tasks which can't be done by scripted object in SL.

You can run the SL client with the AFK timeout set so that you never get kicked (apart from sim outages, PC crashes or ISP problems). Go into Debug and find AFKtimeout, then set it to all the 9s; you'll never get logged out again.

If you want to run multiple clients from the same PC, it makes sense to use one of the non-graphic clients like SLeek (mentioned above) or Metabolt.
