I just paid $L200 for some hair that does not do right on my avatar. Can I place a ad and sell it?

Virtually all the hair I've seen is no transfer, so probably not. If it's modifiable, you can also make a copy and tinker with it...see if you can get it to fit a bit better.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Yup...this is one of the reasons even non-creative types need to get comfortable with the basic editing tools.

Sell Hair

I would love to keep the hair but don't know how to fix it. The problem with the hair is this...it has gaps in it and you can see my scalp.

I have only been here since August 14th so do not know how to fix this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks

OK, first thing, make a copy of the hair by right-clicking and choosing Copy, then right-click > Paste, in Inventory. Next, find a pose stand...most hair shops have them, if you don't have anyplace you can put one down. Wear the hair and right-click > Sit on the stand. Then, right-click > Edit the hair. Select the 'Stretch' radio button, make sure the 'Stretch Both Sides' box is checked, then click and slowly drag one of the small gray squares away from your head until your scalp is no longer showing. You may want to tweak the position of the hair too, which you do by selecting the 'Position' radio button and dragging the ends of the arrows.

As you become more adventurous, you can also edit individual pieces of the hair...as long as you take a copy first, mistakes don't matter. :)

Edit: I'm looking for a video, but here's a pretty good text explanation in the meantime:

Also, a bit of advice: Most hair sellers have either free or L$1 demos for you to try on your avatar before you buy the hair. Try these before you buy the full deal. It'll save you a load of grief in the long run.

Wow, Mary - I really understand the problem you had. My scalp shows up through my hair in FL! I don't like it that way. The odd thing is your hair was new, while I've had mine for many years and it didn't used to look this way. I guess it needs adjusting.

I'm glad you got yours fixed! :) Now ... can someone help me too?

I have just started doing this too. Do you need to check the box that says stretch texture as well, or is that automatically taken care of?

No, you can leave that button alone. Using the basic stretch feature as outlined before will stretch the texture in proportion automatically.

I have to say... Considering my tall avatar is still VERY small compared to most, I always have a laugh when I put on a new hair and find bald spots because it's too small and needs stretching. (^_^)

Now... If only that were true about skirts. SKIRT MAKERS!!! QUIT BUILDING FOR AMAZONS AND NO MORE 0.010 PARTS FOR YOU!!! (>_<;) I'm glad someone gave me that 'Fix Small Prims' script lately. (^_^)y

I purchased a hair I really liked at Hair Fair, by a creator I'd never heard of before, so I went to their shop to see what other goodies they had. Now, Ann's head is set at 50, which is actually a trifle small for the rest of her when bald, but usually guarantees that my favorite hair (ETD!) fits pretty well out of the box. This new (to me, at least) creator's demos were so small that literally half of Ann's scalp was showing...I didn't have that problem with their Hair Fair demos, so I'm *hoping* they're moving away from that. As it was, I couldn't tell anything about how the in-store hair would look when properly sized, so I only purchased one of the 7 or 8 I tried. Lost sales for them, no fun new hair for me... :(
