I just notice that all my snapshots from the past 3 weeks are all in .j2c format. Did i accidentally check/uncheck something in the setting to cause this? Anyone know how to fix it?

i am using viewer 1.19.0.5

added - anyone know how to open these files or a converter i can download to use them?

Hmm, the only way I can get snapshots to save in a file other then .bmp is by going to the advanced menu and checking compress snapshots to disc.

My Paint Shop Pro will open that format, but Gimp does not. I would imagine Photoshop would open it too.

sorry i dont know the magic button to push but your not the only one

but for converting

http://www.ivanview.com/j2c-converter.html

that will do a batch conversion, meaning you can take all your images at once, click a button and be done with it

I think you have Advanced / Compress Snapshots To Disk turned on.

The free bitmap program Irfanview should open them. It will ask if you want to rename the extension to jp2.

When you uncheck that it will fix.
I tried default and hi rez and they were both .bmp

Only compress image was in the other file. :)

There's a free plugin to read j2k (=j2c) from fnord.

http://www.fnordware.com/j2k/

It says it works with photoshop 5.5... hope it works with cs2 too.

I know i'm using the (free) leadtools plugin for CS3 mysels
http://leadtools.com/Utilities/PSPlugIn/PhotoShop_plug-in.htm

I'm not sure if they still have cs2 compatibility though.

My preference is leadtools, as i'm using a lot of their tools professionally too. (Automated image processing etc.)

Yup and jpeg2000 also saves alot of disk space... when you don't need full quality because of picture editing (you can also control the compression factor via debug settings).
