I just recieved 1250 L$ and checked my transaction history and it was paid by the system and said Linden Grant in the description. what could this be for? It possibly couldn't be my signup bonus since i have been premium for almost a year. Christmas present maybe?

I've never referred anyone to SL unless a friend did it without telling me. Not that i'm complaining or anything, but if it is a grant, does that mean i have to do something now? LOL

Had that too some days ago!! I sent 8000 lindens to the wrong person and it's a bot or a death account, so I won't never have them back... I sent my support ticket and in bout 5 days I received 1250 lindens from that Grant thingy too. Thought: well, at least I got something else... But no idea why My rezzday, maybe?

If you're really dying of curiousity, you could always file a support ticket and ask. I decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth Have you ever filed a support ticket over lost money?

From the sum, it's the bonus for adding payment info and going premium in the same instant. Congratulations, you are now the second resident I know who actually received that bonus.

Linden Grant never did crap for me, but I did once get a flexi Confederate flag from Robert E. Linden.

My alt got that, too, a few weeks back, but he was a free account first and only updated later ...
I think it was 45 days after updating, but he had been a free account for months before that.

LOL Did you ever send someone a postcard to their email? I remember reading somewhere that if that person eventually got a premium acct using that same email address you got some kind of bonus... not sure if it's 1250L though (2000L ?)

I think it was 45 days after updating, but he had been a free account for months before that. It's probably just a backlog. OMG, I just found a library book from 1976.....

From: Snowman Jiminy Referral bonus maybe - one of your friends just gone premium? The referral bonus is only 500 L$ these days, so I don't think it can be that.

I don't think the Lindens even know anymore, but they can keep sending them if they want. I won't complain!

It was most definitely your premium membership bonus. This takes 45 days for payment from the date of going to a premium account.
The information regarding all types of membership questions is quite easily found under the Membership Plans link on the left of the pages on the secondlife website.

Better late than never.

YAY, I just got it too, and I was an unverified for a while before I went premium, and I've been premium for more than 45 days. I won't complain either - this is a nice surprise.

it could also be a a payment dividend from a group that you are a part of that a member or members sold land. some groups have this option enabled for some or all group members, for whatever reason. (newbies come to mind)

Those are usually called "group dividend" in the transaction history, though.
