Hello,
I run a land rental company. I have a customer currently in a full sim, class 5, 15,000 prims. This issue started occurring about a day or two after the customer got the sim.
The issue starts, and I get IMs about how people cannot move their cars.
I have my avatar at about 700+ meters because I am building, and I can move my physical objects around.
Also, this is off and on. I can't seem to find a pattern that causes this.
It either fixes itself, or I have to run a restart, and even that does not last for long.
I have submitted a ticket to LLs about a day or two ago and I have received no response on whats causing this.
Sim FPS is top notch, running at 45, or slightly below, and script times are all good. And there is no lag when this issue is causing problems.
I am no noob, I know how to run the land tools, I know how to look at the Statistics, and Scripts all of that. I could have missed something though.
I know a suggestion is going to be "Check the physics button in the estate menu." I already have, and its off, and has remained off. If it were on, nothing in the entire sim could move, and when they are disabled that way, avatars can't move, and they can, its just the objects that can't.
I have waited long enough for LL Support to get back to me on whats the deal.
Any insight? And like I said, its possible that I missed a blog report on issues with server releases or something, thats why I am asking for help.
Thanks,
Ozark Mayo (In SL(R) for over 2 years)

You've tried your own vehicles down at the same spot that's reported as having problems?
Any chance this is happening when people are rezzing stuff or TPing in/out?

don't make a ticket, takes way to much time. Just contact concierge via live chat and a linden is there in a few minits to look at it.

Any chance this is happening when people are rezzing stuff or TPing in/out? I have tested my own vehicle in the same spot. No go. I'll will have to test the rezzing and teleporting thing again, but I do believe it doesn't matter. -O

From: Ozark Mayo I have tested my own vehicle in the same spot. No go. But it did work up in your skybox? You sure there's nothing transparent or maybe ghosted in that area? From: Ozark Mayo I'll will have to test the rezzing and teleporting thing again, but I do believe it doesn't matter. Sims lock up for a bit when people TP into the region or rez complicated objects. If the problems you're seeing are limited to one area, it's probably not that issue (SVC-4196) as that hits everything in the region.

From: Meade Paravane But it did work up in your skybox? You sure there's nothing transparent or maybe ghosted in that area? Positive. It happens anywhere on the ground. And in response to the locking up part, yep, I am aware of that, and it still has yet to affect that area. Im trying to test to see if it has any direct relation to the teleporting. It seems the most logical. -O

From: Zoha Boa don't make a ticket, takes way to much time. Just contact concierge via live chat and a linden is there in a few minits to look at it. Am I able to do that on a basic account? I have payment info on file, but I'm pretty sure you need a premium account to live chat right? -O

From: Meade Paravane ...digs around for her ghost detector script... Drop this (totally untested but should work) script in a prim, raise it up to 100m or so then touch it. It'll drop until it hits something then tell you what it hit. Note that if it is indeed a ghost prim, the owner probably has no clue that it's there. It's a sim bug... default { state_entry() { llSetStatus (STATUS_PHYSICS, FALSE); llSetRot (ZERO_ROTATION); } touch_start(integer total_number) { llSetStatus (STATUS_PHYSICS, TRUE); } land_collision(vector position) { llOwnerSay ("d'oh!! struck land - no ghost here!"  ; llResetScript(); } collision(integer count) { llSetStatus (STATUS_PHYSICS, FALSE); while (--count >= 0) { key id = llDetectedKey(count); string who = llKey2Name(id); if (who == ""  { who = "http://world.secondlife.com/resident/" + (string)id; } llOwnerSay ("Hit object " + llDetectedName(count) + " owned by " + who + " at " + (string)llDetectedPos(count)); } llResetScript(); } }

I don't suppose your new tenant has any temp-rezzers?

If there were any temp rezzers, I would see it in the Top Scripts.
Tried the detector, nothing so far.
But physics are OK at the moment.

Contact Concierge.
Tell them you have region issues that aren't showing up with the regular tools. Ask them to shut off Mono scripts and see if the issues persist, and such as that. You might have a rogue script or a memory leak serverside, which will manifest in many different ways.
They may well get the Comsys engineers on it, and should have something figured out within a day or two, if not sooner. Yes, things like this do happen that the Stats can't tell you.
Before you do all that though, try this:
a) shut off all scripts via region controls
b) restart region
c) restart all scripts
And see if the problem went away.

Any chance that it is occurring only when certain residents are present? There have been reports that a certain third-party viewer "breaks" a region's physical vehicle attributes in the Havok engine as it pertains to vehicle movement scripts. http://commonsensible.net/2009/10/okay-which-of-you-is-breaking-my-sim.htmlSomething like this would account for the intermittent nature of the problem.

-O If you are the sim owner , the one who pays the tier of the sim to Linden Labs you don't have to be premium. If not contact the real owner of the sim. He can contact Concierge Support via live chat. A few minits later a linden will show up.

In the estate menu - have you looked at the "show collisions" button?
