How does this happen??

I have been doing a spot of Inventory cleaning, and I noticed a few objects in my inventory that when I rezz them I am listed as the Creator and the Owner, yet the object is no-perm.

I cannot look at the scripts or notecards in the Contents (again I am the creator of the script/notecard, and the owner), and I cannot seem to do anything with these objects except rezz them.

Does anyone know how this state of affairs can come about? I have never intentionally tried to make an object I have created non-copy, non-mod to myself.

Not entirely sure how/why this happens....but I've run into the same glitch off and on with my shapes & skins. I'll put on one of my own and creations and go into edit appearance and get the gray box that tells me I don't have permissions.....

I usually just ignore it and try another.....ultimately it works itself out. But it seems like this is one of those pesky permissions bugs and I almost recall reading a thread on this a while back......have you checked to see if it's a known bug....or ever was a bug?

This happens to me all the time, mostly when I take a copy. I build something full perm that I want to leave in place. I take a copy of it and the item is not full perms. Very annoying!

When you take a copy, you get the "next owner" permissions, not your original owner permissions.

I take-copy my Mehve all the time when I'm working on it and that's never happened to me.

As far as I can tell this just happens, sometimes, the permissions get screwed up when an asset is rezzed or taken into inventory. And sometimes all instances of an asset get screwed up... I've had clothes "break" like this and when I went to the creator she said her own copies had been corrupted too.

In the last few months, it seems to me that the volume of various permissions bugs on Jira has increased. Enough that I'm not going to bother to look this particular variant up ... whenever permissions do something I don't expect, I just chalk it up to SL nowadays.

Pity the merchants who recently found that their vendors were giving out full-perm items! I believe that hole is plugged, but more seem to open continuously.

Spaghetti, anyone?
